POSITION OBJECTIVES:

LiveTrends Design Group, LLC., is looking for an experienced, driven Assistant Controller for an immediate opening at an innovative, on-the-rise company. In this position attention to detail is critical. This individual will ensure the timeliness and accuracy of journal entries, monthly and year-end financial reports, and assist with regulatory reporting as applicable. The Assistant Controller will report directly to the Director of Accounting and be responsible for the supervision of accounts payable, accounts receivable and collections, inventory, along with the accurate recording and payment of tax liabilities. In addition, due to the rapid growth of LiveTrends Design Group, there are likely to be opportunities to be involved in a wide range of special projects.

Responsibilities:

• Aid in the supervision of the daily operations of the accounting department, which includes general accounting, A/P, A/R, payroll, purchasing, inventory, taxes, and reporting.
• Assist in the preparation of budgets, forecasts, and financial statements in compliance with official guidelines and requirements.
• Maintain and improve accounting controls as needed.
• Update and maintain the general ledger. Review transactions and reconciliations monthly to ensure accuracy of account balances.
• Research accounting issues and provide solutions or process change recommendations.
• Evaluate and analyze financial data and trends.
• Oversee the proper calculation and payment of tax liabilities in a timely manner.
• Participate in inventory audits as needed.
• Provide supporting documentation and year-end assistance to external auditors as necessary.

Qualifications:

• Proven experience as an Assistant Controller
• A thorough understanding of GAAP standards and regulations
• Excellent knowledge of accounting and financial processes (budgeting, reporting, financial closure, etc.)
• Excellent verbal and written communications skills.
• Intermediate – Advanced Excel skills; pivot, vlookup, hlookup, indexing, sum functions, macros.
• A demonstrated curiosity about all aspects of the Company’s operations
• A willingness to question current processes and assumptions, work in new areas, and develop new skills
• A demonstrated ability to develop staff and team capabilities
• Ability to work on multiple projects at once
• BS/BA in Accounting, Finance or relevant field is required
• 7+ years of experience in accounting with 3+ years of manufacturing/cost accounting experience preferred.
• SAP Business One experience is preferred
