Staff Accountant
Description

Under general supervision, the staff accountant performs a range of daily accounting functions, including accounts payable, accounts receivable and processing weekly payroll for the organization.


Duties and Responsibilities include but are not limited to; process invoices and prepare checks, reconcile and post daily operating deposits, generate financial reports as needed, assist with fiscal audits and institutional budgeting reports, assists with month end procedures and reconciliations. The accountant will process weekly payroll, working closely with HR and department managers. The accountant will work with other members of the finance team during festivals and large events, performing vendor settlements, counting deposits and generating reports.


  

Requirements
  • Bachelors degree in Business, Accounting, Finance, Mathematics or related field preferred
  • A minimum of two years’ professional experience working in an accounting or finance-related role
  • Ability to demonstrate proficiency in using Microsoft Excel and other accounting software at an intermediate or higher level;
  • Ability to prioritize and complete multiple tasks, error free, in a fast-paced environment
  • High attention-to-detail, highly organized, critical thinking, problem solving and confidentiality
  • Self direction, initiative, and follow up skills to ensure work is accurate and deadlines are met

This position may require occasional extended hours, work on weekends and/or holidays for advance scheduled events and festivals.  


As defined by the National Labor Relations Act, this position is part of the bargaining unit for UAW Local 2110.
