 Job Title: Development Associate 

Supervisor: Senior Director of Development and Community Engagement

Job Status: Exempt, Salaried, Full-time

Pay Range: $53,000 to $55,000

Primary Location: Remote & New Center

We are looking for an individual who possesses knowledge of non-profit development, strong communication skills, attention to detail, and enthusiasm to support the mission of Accounting Aid Society. This position is an integral member of the development team and will offer critical support to achieve the fundraising and donor stewardship goals of Accounting Aid Society.   They will work closely with the Senior Director of Development and Community Engagement to build a development pipeline; including individual and annual giving.   


Support functions include research, development focused administrative support, drafting acknowledgment letters and proposals, database management, preparing annual giving and stewardship reports, program management, donor relations, and assisting with special events or projects.

Job Responsibilities

  • Assist with research of prospective corporate, foundation and individual funders
  • Assist with development and implementation of Accounting Aid Society’s annual fundraising plan
  • Manage development calendar by liaising with funders, agency programs and development team; aligning calendar with agency, project and department objectives; scheduling and planning meetings, including agenda setting
  • Assist Marketing Strategist with marketing tasks related to development
  • Assist Grant Strategist with grant writing as needed
  • Assist with development of individual giving program
  • Produce acknowledgement and stewardship communications
  • Assist with assembling department reports and summarizing outcomes
  • Assist with planning, implementation and oversight of special events and projects
  • Oversee donor gift processing and stewardship
  • Maintain database of donors, potential donors, and grant funders
  • Other duties as assigned by the Senior Director of Development and Community Engagement
Requirements

Successful candidates will possess all or many of the following qualifications and/or skills:

  • Bachelor’s degree in business, business administration, communications, marketing, nonprofit management or related field
  • 1-3 years of experience in development work
  • Knowledge of local community philanthropic and business community
  • Strong organizational and time management skills with close attention to detail
  • Demonstrated proficiency with Microsoft Office and donor database management, DonorPerfect experience a plus
  • Strong administrative, oral and written communication
  • Effective interpersonal skills and demonstrated ability to work with minimal supervision
  • Interest in building a non-profit development career and gaining exposure to development
