We specialize in the collection of road condition data and right-of-way assets (such as street signs , curbs/gutters, and sidewalks). The data is collected through a variety of technology solutions including electronic sensors and visual observations captured through touch screens. IMS is recruiting for a Asset Data Processing Technician to process data collected through Lidar technology in the field. The data is processed through a series of quality control measures to prepare it for analysis by the engineering team. This position will require critical thinking, time management, attention to detail and the ability to work on multiple projects autonomously.
GIS/Asset Data Technician Responsibilities:
? Processing and archiving of raw data through proprietary software workflows.
? Manipulation and integration of data into various tools and software and manipulation of tabular data and creation of GIS files.
? Oversees the field collection process of assigned projects by communicating with field collection crews and providing updates to project stakeholders.
? Conducts quality control/quality assurance on data to ensure accuracy.
? Provides support to engineers and managers to prepare and review client deliverables.
? Load data into proprietary Windows-based applications and complete a series of processing steps
? Complete common QA/QC tasks like checking for missing values and values out of range.

Minimum Required Skills:
The successful candidate will possess the following skills:
? Intermediate to advanced Microsoft Excel skills
? Beginner to intermediate Microsoft Access/SQL Server skills
? Experience successfully completing tasks that require a high level of attention to detail on a regular basis
? Possesses the ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously and can prioritize tasks accordingly.
? Can work in a team as well as independently
? Possesses the critical thinking skills and curiosity to solve challenging problems
First consideration will be given to applicants who have experience in some or all of the following:
? Experience with LiDAR processing is a plus
? Familiarity with coordinate systems/transformations is a plus
? Exposure to CAD is a plus
? Basic programming skills (Python, SQL, etc.) is a plus
Education & Experience
? Bachelor’s Degree in GIS or other technical field and 1 year working in a technical field
? OR Associates Degree or Technical Certificate and 2+ years working in a technical field
? OR Highschool Diploma or equivalent and 5+ years experience working in a technical field.
