Description

Join a team that provides one-on-one, in-home ABA therapy for children with Autism Spectrum Disorder and/or other related developmental delays in the areas of Speech, Communication, Language, Social Interaction, Play, Motor Skills, Academic Skills, or with Behavioral Deficits & Behavioral Excesses, under the supervision of a BCBA.

Our Behavior Therapists provide 1:1 aide support, implement programs designed by a certified BCBA, complete accurate data documentation, as well as maintain a positive and professional relationship with team members and family. Additionally, our Behavior Therapists undergo an initial training period, and receive ongoing training throughout your employment with CBI.

Requirements

NO EXPERIENCE NECESSARY, PAID TRAINING PROVIDED


Preferred Background:

  • College coursework in Psychology, Education, Human Development, or Related Fields

Other Requirements:

  • Must be self-motivated, responsible, honest, articulate and able to work independently with minimal supervision.
  • Be able to pass the Applied Behavior Analysis Technician (ABAT) exam - administered by QABA.
  • Have excellent time management skills and knowledge of city maps.
  • Be able to serve culturally and linguistically diverse families in low and high social economic status areas.
  • Be comfortable working in families’ homes with limited resources (e.g. studio apt., housing projects, etc.).
  • Maintain professional boundaries, professional composure, and work well under pressure.
  • Implement behavior modification strategies under agency supervision.
  • Effectively communicate with others (clients, family members, agency staff, etc.).
  • Accept, follow, and implement direction from agency representatives.
  • Be creative, spontaneous, and animated in your gestures, facial expressions and voice interactions.
  • Have a telephone and reliable method to record scheduled appointments, and return telephone calls within 24 hours.
  • Have reliable transportation and current liability insurance for your vehicle.
  • Stand, sit, twist, kneel, bend-over, crouch down, walk, and sit/play on the floor for extended periods of time.
  • Must be available to work weekday afternoons, evenings, and/or weekends (typically, after 3:00 PM M-F and one weekend day).
  • Ability to provide negative TB test results.
  • Ability to pass FBI & DOJ background fingerprinting.
Salary Description
$18-$23 per hr (negotiable based on experience)
