Operating Engineer: A day in the life (if you want to work 9am-5pm in the AC, this job is NOT for you)

  • tasks that involve a lot of physical labor
  • operate cranes, forklifts, Bobcats, backhoes, and skip hoists under general supervision
  • control the speed and direction of the crane and hoist movement according to written, verbal, or signal instructions
  • understanding of working in precise limits and standards of accuracy
  • lift, position and place machinery, equipment or other large objects/loads on site
  • comfortable working in extreme heights
