The Northside Achievement Zone (NAZ) is a bold and innovative collaborative effort to close the achievement gap in the geographic “Zone” of North Minneapolis. The purpose of our work is to end multigenerational poverty in our community, using education as a lever. We use a data-driven, evidence-based, achievement-focused model in which both children and their families move through a “cradle-to-career” ecosystem that provides comprehensive support. NAZ is a leading initiative in the national Promise Neighborhoods and cradle to college/career movement. As NAZ learns what works with families in North Minneapolis to address complex issues related to urban poverty, strategies are being set up for replication and informing the regional, state, and national field.

Position Purpose

The Salesforce Administrator role will serve as the primary administrator for NAZ’s CRM system. Our system is enterprise-wide and is currently used to track our program and fundraising work.  This system is the core database used internally by NAZ and also shared among a network of more than 30 nonprofit organizations and schools. The Salesforce Administrator will be supervised by the Director of Evaluation, be a member of both the Data Innovation (DI) team, the Development team, and will work with NAZ staff and partners.

Primary Responsibilities

  • Serve as primary system administrator for the Salesforce Nonprofit Success Pack environment.
  • Manage administrative Salesforce functions, including: updating automations in flows and process builder; leading implementation roadmap; developing data auditing system; and analyzing ongoing needs for long-term data system strategy in partnership with system users and NAZ leadership.  
  • Lead project planning to incorporate new users, programs, and functionality into the system using both agile and waterfall approaches. 
  • Provide appropriate CRM training for all staff. 
  • Ensure data entry processes are documented and updated on a regular basis.
  • Facilitate data sharing by responding to requests for information from evaluators, partners, other as appropriate, and as required by both funder reporting requirements.
  • Manage and update a Salesforce Experience Cloud site for partner staff including adding functionality, managing security settings, and adding onboarding new users.
  • Manage Salesforce integrations with Pardot, Qgiv, FormTitan, Donorsearch, and Apsona and liaise as the primary contact and contract manager.
  • Implementation and training of best practices in protection of privacy in data and reporting. 
  • Other duties as assigned. 

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in statistics, computer science, data science or a related field, or 3-5 years related experience.
  • Experience with data analytics with strong report building and querying skills.
  • Results oriented—create accurate and timely application improvements, develop and implement training and ongoing user support. 
  • Strong organizational skills and ability to prioritize workload
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, ability to adapt to the audience and promote teamwork.
  • Demonstrated ability to take initiative, respond to requests, follow-through with details, and meet deadlines.
  • Computer proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, Google Suite, Access/Quickbase.
  • Strong commitment to NAZ mission and goals, particularly the expectation that children growing up in North Minneapolis can succeed in academics and college.

Preferred Qualifications

  • 2+ years of experience as a Salesforce Administrator with knowledge of NPSP.  Strong understanding of the platform with the ability to manage complex security settings, create and update Lightning Flows/process builder, and experience with the lightning app.
  • Experience in project management, staff supervision and implementing new database. 
  • Familiarity with data privacy requirements such as HIPAA, FERPA, and Mental Health Protections.
  • Experience with fundraising and grants management.

Working Conditions and Physical Effort:

  • This is a hybrid role, the individual will complete a portion of their work onsite at the NAZ facility located in North Minneapolis, MN 55411
  • Work includes frequent walking up and down stairs, lifting, sitting, and bending.
  • Regular operation of normal office machines (computer, copier, and fax) is required.
  • There are occasional evenings and weekends required.
  • Limited travel may be required.
