Data Analyst II

The Bizzell Group is seeking a Data Analyst to support the firm's federal government client and provide a broad range of healthcare quality improvement services involving support of the national data-driven initiatives to optimize health outcomes for persons and families while supporting clinicians, providers, and communities in improving health and healthcare of the population they serve.   



Required Skills 

  • Advanced  SAS programming skills to provide statistical programming and analytical support on a range of projects 
  • Experience analyzing large data sets, strong data management skills, and strong writing skills 
  • Able to contextualize and interpret research findings within larger ideas, topics, and trends 
  • Able to synthesize research for high-quality presentation 
  • Able to distill large amounts of information into concise bullets, graphics, and frameworks  
  • Experience at managing multiple simultaneous projects from start to finish 
  • Strong project management, planning, and organization skills, and an ability to handle multiple projects simultaneously in a fast-paced environment 
  • Proficient in utilizing MS Office 
  • Excellent technical abilities and strong analytical skills 
  • Effective communication skills with the ability to interact with team members and customers 
  • Provide training to colleagues as needed 

Preferred Skills 

  • Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS) experience  
  • Familiarity with one or more of the following datasets: MedPAR Claims, Hospital Cost Report Data, Provider of Services File, Provider Specific Data for Public Use Files for IPF PPS, Common Working File (CWF) Inpatient Claims Data 
  • Experience with Amazon QuickSight, Tableau or other data visualization libraries/tools/toolkits/applications 


  • Master’s degree in Computer Science, Data Analytics, Mathematics, Statistics, Information Systems, Data Science or related area and/or equivalent experience 
  • At least four (4) years of experience in SAS programming 
  • At least four (4) years in data analytics programmer preferred 
  • At least three (3) years of experience working as a data analyst within the healthcare sector for a federal government client or contractor a plus
