Description

The Bizzell Group is seeking a Data Analyst to support the firm's federal government client and provide a broad range of healthcare quality improvement services involving support of the national data-driven initiatives to optimize health outcomes for persons and families while supporting clinicians, providers, and communities in improving health and healthcare of the population they serve.

  • Perform quantitative and qualitative analyses, create analytic reports, and provide operational support as part of the Data Validation and Administrative (DVA) Contractor team’s mission to ensure accurate, high-quality measure data submissions from Network of Quality Improvement and Innovation Contractors (NQIICs).
  • Become proficient with contract documentation and NQIIC narrative deliverables to understand data submission requirements and NQIIC data quality processes/infrastructure.
  • Design analytic and data management strategies for monitoring and examining NQIIC data submissions to identify special-cause data patterns, anomalies and other potential data quality issues.
  • Create actionable internal reports depicting the data quality issues identified and provide recommendations to address them.
  • Contribute questions and other query items for follow-up with NQIICs to address data quality issues.
  • Provide operational/programmatic support for DVA validation and audit activities.
  • Contribute analytic content to monthly and quarterly reporting on NQIIC data quality issues for the Client.
  • Participate in internal DVA strategic meetings and, as appropriate, meetings with the Client to present analytic findings and insights.
  • Perform other duties as assigned

Required Skills

  • Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS) experience 
  • Advanced SAS programming skills to provide statistical programming and analytical support on a range of projects
  • Experience analyzing extremely large data sets, strong data management skills, and strong writing skills
  • Able to contextualize and interpret research findings within larger ideas, topics, and trends
  • Able to synthesize research for high-quality presentation
  • Able to distill large amounts of information into concise bullets, graphics, and frameworks 
  • Experience at managing multiple simultaneous projects from start to finish
  • Strong project management, planning, and organization skills, and an ability to handle multiple projects simultaneously in a fast-paced environment
  • Proficient in utilizing MS Office
  • Excellent technical abilities and strong analytical skills
  • Effective communication skills with the ability to interact with team members and customers
  • Provide training to colleagues as needed

Preferred Skills

  • Familiarity with other health data sets (e.g., National Healthcare Safety Network (NHSN))
  • Experience with Amazon QuickSight and other data visualization libraries/tools/toolkits
  • Familiarity with interactive graphics, data visualization, data mining, and data analysis, including experience in creating graphical representations of data
  • Familiarity with Qualtrics and Atlassian 
  • Qualifications
  • Master’s degree in Computer Science, Data Analytics, Mathematics, Statistics, Information Systems, Data Science or related area and/or equivalent experience
  • At least four (4) years of experience in SAS programming
  • At least four (4) years in data analytics programmer preferred
  • At least three (3) years of experience working as a data analyst within the healthcare sector for a federal government client or contractor a plus
