Daily Tasks:

The Lawn Maintenance Technician will be responsible for assisting the Foreman of Landscaping in all of your team’s projects. You will report directly to the Foreman of Landscape Maintenance for all concerns, questions, issues, and customer requests. Typical assigned jobs include but are not limited to: commercial and residential mowing, trimming, spraying/spreading of pesticides, fertilization of lawns, shrub pruning, mulching, leaf removals, plant installations, installation of river rock. It’s important that jobs be carried out with attention to detail. 


The physical demands of this job require constantly moving, walking, stooping, kneeling, crouching or crawling, and frequently operating machinery. This job requires working outdoors in all types of weather conditions and exposure to the elements. This may include heavy to moderate noise and exposure to tools and machines used in outdoor construction/landscaping.

Requirements
  • Current and valid PA Driver’s license
  • Competence in driving a commercial truck
  • Current PA DOT Medical Card
  • Orientation training will include obtaining Class A CDL as well as completing NCMA & ICPI certifications (all paid for by Local Roots)

Expectations

  • Able to work approximately 40-55 hours per week from March-December
  • Able to work approximately 15-40 hours per week from January-February
  • Current and valid PA Driver’s license
  • Competence in operating ALL landscape maintenance equipment
  • Competence in shrub pruning, mulching, leaf removals, plant installations, and the installation of river rock.
  • Onsite small equipment repairs as necessary
  • Time management and problem solving skills
  • Reliability and timeliness
Salary Description
$17-$25/hour
