Description

Design, implement, monitor, and manage the LAN, WAN, WLAN, VPN services for our customers to ensure maximum uptime for users. The role can include designing system configurations, documenting, and managing the installation of a new network, and maintaining and upgrading existing systems as necessary.

Requirements

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Configure and install new data technology such as routers, switches, servers, firewalls, and wireless access points
  • Oversee and complete all projects assigned to you from start to finish with assistance from Sales and Project Managers
  • Configuring firewalls, routing, and switching to maximize network efficiency and security
  • Be an effective communicator to end users ensuring complex data technology is easy to use.
  • Work together as a team with Sales Engineers, Project Managers, Dispatch, Management, and other voice and data technicians/engineers to reach the common goal for the customer
  • Maximize network performance through ongoing monitoring and troubleshooting
  • Upgrade, update, and backup all data equipment regularly and according to each customers maintenance contract 
  • Take initiative to continue training in all aspects of the job as time allows
  • Assist fellow technicians and share your knowledge as needed

Qualifications

  • Associate or bachelor's degree in Computer/Information Science, Technical College or similar
  • At least 4 years of working experience in networking technology 
  • Have a basic understanding of data cabling and connections including RJ-45, wall jacks, patch panels, and fiber
  • Have an understanding and be able to demonstrate network technologies and protocols 
  • Technology savvy and ability to learn new technology quickly
  • Ability to remain calm in stressful situations
  • Strong ability to work and manage tasks independently
  • Great customer service skills

Preferred Qualifications

  • CCNA, CWNA, Network+, or similar certifications
  • Experience working with Extreme Networks solutions and Cisco solutions
  • Experience working with SonicWALL, Watchguard, FortiGate and Cisco Firewalls
  • Experience working with enterprise level WLAN solutions

Working Conditions

Office working conditions with some travel to customer sites, some may be out of state.
