Position Overview

U.S. CAD, a leading provider of software and services that support the AEC&O (Architect, Engineering, Construction, Owner) community, is seeking a Technology Consultant to join our dynamic and growing organization. 

The Technology Consultant has a primary focus on leading consulting efforts, developing proposed recommendations for customers, preparing scoping of solutions based on customer needs, effectively coordinating with team members to develop, prepare, and deliver proposal documents. Technology Consultants are the primary pre-sales resource for U.S. CAD solutions and technologies offered. In addition, the role requires the ability to deliver complex, often customized, training and consulting to U.S. CAD customers.


The ideal candidate should be a self-starter, takes initiative, can run with guidance while taking accountability, and is proactive. 


Qualifications

  • The individual in the role must be able to speak comfortably and effectively to large and small groups of people. Effective speakers have the ability to command audience attention and adjust their presentation to the needs of the audience at a moment’s notice. 
  • Maintain cutting edge experience with the Autodesk family of products and other software and technologies represented by U.S. CAD with a solid understanding of how they are used in the AEC&O industries. 
  • Demonstrate a basic understanding of business how organizations in the AEC&O industries perform work and deliver value to their customers. 
  • Establish a high level of confidence with U.S. CAD major accounts, while maintaining an equal commitment to both small and medium sized accounts. 
  • Possess exceptional understanding of current BIM collaboration technology, and technology trends within the AEC&O community. 
  • Continuously demonstrate self-improvement in the areas of teaching, mentoring, and consulting. 
  • Demonstrate excellent written, verbal, and presentation skills.
  • Exhibit a proactive attitude and demonstrate strong self-motivational attributes. 
  • Demonstrate a sense of pride and adhere to high standards and quality personally and in their work product and services.

  • Assist the Sales Department with various presales activities. 
  • Possess superior organizational/time management skills and a “make-it-happen” attitude with the abilities to multi-task several projects at one time. 
  • Adhere to the utmost business ethics ensuring U.S. CAD maintains its respected image at all times 
  • Be willing and available to travel, if needed, both regionally and nationally, to provide designated services. 
  • Maintain experience and understanding of the BIM production environment. 
  • Maintain a good working attitude and a desire to be a key member of our dynamic team and make a difference in the industry. 
  • Maintain cutting edge experience with the Autodesk family of products and other software applications. 

Essential Functions

  • Consistently demonstrate his/her ability to deal with industry specific companies at a business-to-business level, identifying and providing solutions that fulfill the business needs of our clients. 
  • Perform “Discovery” consultations with customers to uncover and identify additional products and services to meet unrealized customer needs (i.e., workflow integration, data management tools, business process improvement, etc.) 
  • Develop detailed proposal documentation identifying customer needs and recommendations in the form of a schedule of work based on information gathered through firsthand knowledge (i.e., Discovery or Pre-Sales Calls/Meetings) and input from Sales and other technical team members that are professional and comprehensive. 
  • Deliver all levels (Beginner, Intermediate, and Advanced/Custom) of training, consulting, and implementation services with a focus and emphasis on high-level (Advanced/Custom) scenarios. 
  • Provide competitive analysis of Autodesk products vs. competitive products throughout the sales cycle. 
  • Partner with Sales Team members to gain and share in-depth product and customer to increase the success of sales related to Autodesk products and services as well as other U.S. CAD supported solutions. 
  • Develop and conduct professional product presentations and demonstrations to help generate sales to meet U.S. CAD and Autodesk revenue objectives. 
  • Customize company-standard technical demonstrations to specifically address customer needs. In conjunction with Sales Team activities, follow-up with customer technical leads to provide additional information or answer technical questions. 
  • Support the success of customers by delivering technical product implementation, consulting, mentoring, training, and support services. 
  • Lead Pre-sales Consulting efforts of higher-level technology and solutions for the AEC&O industries. 
  • Maintain an industry recognized leadership position through social networking and other public events that includes but is not limited to: Product and Implementation Tips/Tricks, White Papers, Publication Articles, Marketing Presentations, Tradeshows, AU Presentations and Blogging. 
  • Complete weekly accounting of time through entry of digital timesheet,
  • Typical Time allocation Targets for Technology Consultants are as follows:

35%-50% Billable hours

20%-35% Pre-Sales hours

5% Overhead hours
