Position Description 


Fairstead is seeking a multidisciplinary Senior Graphic Designer with strong graphic design and storytelling ability join the Communications team. The Senior Graphic Designer will concept, lead, and design projects at the highest creative levels. This position will work collaboratively with members of the Marketing and Operations teams, on-site team members and executive leadership within the firm, as well as manage relationships with external vendors.

At the direction of the Creative Director, the Graphic Designer is directly responsible for the following:

  • Provide graphic design support and  expertise to an internal client base
  • Design creative pieces for the residential portfolio and management company’s initiatives
  • Produce marketing campaigns including branding, print and digital collateral, etc. that are creative and original to reflect both the community and the company, including brochures, flyers, floor plans, direct mail campaigns, eblast and social media campaigns, signage, event collateral and more
  • Source new and innovative tools for stronger, more strategic marketing including video, photography, virtual reality, 3D printing, and more 
  • Assist with the preparation of industry and community presentations; support for other departments and business units including corporate, sustainability, development, executive team, and training
  • Support the firm’s photography efforts and needs, including coordinating and supervising shoots, and maintaining photo libraries


  • Bachelor’s degree (graphic design or related field preferred) and a minimum of 5–7 years of experience in graphic, communication or editorial design
  • Passionate about design and committed to excellence with exceptional attention to detail
  • Excellent typographic skills, including use of grid systems, hierarchy, and fine-tuning
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, able to present ideas clearly
  • Excellent organizational skills and efficient task prioritization, including ability to handle multiple, simultaneous deadlines
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Experience preparing materials, participating, and leading internal and external meetings
  • Solution-oriented and able to generate creative solutions
  • Highly proficient with Adobe CC (InDesign, Photoshop, Illustrator) and Microsoft Office, including Powerpoint; CSS and HTML preferred. Video editing skills a plus.
  • Knowledge of printers, paper types, materials, etc. to produce the best deliverables possible within budget
