Description

We’re looking for a social media savvy content strategist and copywriter with a passion for the PC gaming industry and its community of active online users. This person will sit within the content marketing team and work primarily with several high profile brands in the tech and gaming space, serving as both a strategic lead and writer for our team and an extension of the client’s own social media marketing team. In collaboration with the account manager, and working with our in-house creatives and paid social experts, you’ll ideate monthly content calendars for “aways on content,” write the copy for these collaborating as appropriate with a creative director, develop social media campaign strategies for new product launches and brand campaigns, lead the development of insights and recommendations based on campaign and post performance, and own the social channel frontier for our client and internal team so that we know what’s new and next for gamers in social.


Responsibilities

  • Co-own the client relationship alongside our account manager, supporting the development of weekly meeting agendas, providing the client with weekly social media platform news and updates, and generally being available for ongoing counsel and brainstorming with the client 
  • Manage content strategy workflow with client stakeholders via AirTable, and internally with Streetsense team members via Basecamp
  • Own the development of monthly editorial calendars for “always on” content across priority social platforms such as Instagram, Twitter, TikTok, YouTube, Reddit, Discord
  • Own copywriting for the monthly content calendars that come out of our approved editorial calendars, and work with creative directors to bring assets to life
  • Own the development of social media campaign strategies for new product initiatives, brand campaigns, and creator community activations — and then collaborate with account manager on implementation of those strategies
  • Collaborate with paid social experts to set annual and campaign-specific KPIs per social channel and to develop insights and recommendations in QBRs and campaign wrap-up reports
  • Own the development of QBR content, including the identification of the quarter’s best performing posts, worst performing posts, and opportunities to pivot based on performance
  • Brainstorm and conceptualize of-the-moment meme content to supplement always-on content calendars
  • Provide ad hoc community management scans and social listening support

  • Are deeply familiar with PC gaming and understand how and where the gaming community interacts on social media
  • Are committed to learning and internalizing the client’s brand, ethos, and product catalog
  • Are “big picture” strategic thinkers who can also focus on the details of social platform capabilities and campaign implementation logistics—and maintain a sense of humor through it all
  • Love to write and can do so quickly, concisely and in large volumes with a unique tone of voice 
  • Take pride in their work but welcome feedback
  • Regularly use Twitter, Instagram, YouTube, and TikTok, and are well-versed with platform products and capabilities 
  • An entrepreneurial mindset in taking initiative, pitching ideas, and owning processes
  • Think two steps ahead and anticipate the needs of a project
  • Are prepared to produce “client ready” work and have a service-minded attitude 
  • Are impeccable organizers and take ownership over tasks and deadlines
  • Capabilities in design, photography, or videography a plus
  • Knowledge of Meta Business Suite and Facebook Business Manager a plus
Requirements
  • 7-10 years of experience in social media, marketing, or communications
  • Experience in or personal passion for PC gaming industry
  • Bachelor’s degree  
  • Strong time management, collaboration, and organization skills 
  • Ability to learn on the fly as the account and company grows 
  • Keen ability to create large volumes of clever and thoughtful content in a variety of mediums with an emphasis on social media
  • Process-oriented and progress-focused; excels at “getting stuff done”
