Overall responsibility: 

Work directly with Trellance’s clients to design and execute the Data Quality strategy to be

effectively implemented in their Cloud and/or on-prem solutions.


  • The data quality engineer will design, develop, document, and perform data quality checks and maintain data quality assurance throughout the enterprise data life cycle
  • Work in conjunction with Data Engineers and BI Engineers to model, calculate and track data quality results
  • Write SQL and other reports to evaluate and analysis data content at platform levels
  • Create BI dashboards to highlight data quality content and overall population metrics
  • Analyze incoming data feeds for all data quality dimensions.
  • Identify trends and analysis for data content across time.
  • Analyze data content and identify gaps in metadata/reference data and standardizations
  • Work with members of the Data Engineering, DevOps, and Product teams in order to understand content and quality of data required to support production deliveries
  • Develop and design quality solutions by studying information needs; conferring with users; studying flow, data usage, and work processes; understanding data product needs across a suite of product/business deliverables.
  • Write pipelines and data flows to integrate into operational processes and gather quality metrics
  • Create Power BI dashboards to present operational metrics
  • Generate overall platform level content and metrics PowerBI dashboards to provide visibility to Product teams and clients of data completeness within the data platform
  • Create alert mechanisms for system issues, data quality issues, data receipt and completeness based on expected calendars and schedules
  • Other duties as assigned. 

Minimum Education/Experience: Bachelor’s degree (BA or BS) in IT from an accredited college or university plus a minimum of seven (7) years of experience in the specific or related field OR High School diploma or equivalent plus a minimum of twelve (12) years of experience in the field. 

Company / Industry Knowledge: In depth knowledge of financial institutions and financial data, preferably credit union or retail banking related. 

Other Experience:

  • 3+ years of experience with leading data quality tool (Informatica, Oracle, SAP, IBM, etc.) developing/implementing large numbers of data quality rules. 
  • Professional Data Quality Certification desirable.
  • 3+ years of hands-on data quality experience with a financial institution, a fintech company, or a provider to the financial services business sector.
  • 2+ years of experience implementing data quality programs in Azure environment with proven success. 
  • 3+ years of customer interfacing experience – project oversight, customer presentation.
  • In depth knowledge of retail banking industry.
  • Experience with modern data pipelines, data streaming, and using real time analytics tools.
  • Experience managing multiple projects in a fast-paced, high-volume environment.
  • Demonstrates a strong sense of ownership and thought leadership.
  • Prior consulting experience a plus.      
  • Some travel may be required.
