Westside Family Healthcare is a nonprofit organization that provides high quality primary medical care without regard to ability to pay. The Accounting Supervisor is responsible for overseeing and coordinating the daily operations of the Accounting Department. The Accounting Supervisor will manage the Staff and Senior Accountant(s). The Accounting Supervisor will ensure reports and tasks are completed timely, and that Westside has the financial systems and procedures in place to support organizational goals and comply with accounting regulations.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  1. Supervise the Staff and Senior Accountant(s).
  2. Ensure accounts payable, payroll, and general accounting activities are completed timely and accurately.
  3. Act as backup to Staff and Senior Accountant(s).
  4. Develop and implement policies and procedures to maintain strong internal controls and ensure compliance with regulatory agencies.
  5. Identifies and recommends changes to accounting policies and procedures.
  6. Direct financial accounting functions to ensure timely and accurate reporting of financial information and that financial statements are free from material misstatement.
  7. Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual reporting for management and the Board of Directors.
  8. Direct or prepare statistical information and reports for management, government, and other agencies.
  9. Oversee the annual financial audit and any special financial audits.
  10. Prepare and complete internal audits.
  11. Work closely with CFO on special projects as assigned.


Requirements

Westside requires our Accounting Supervisor meet these requirements:

  1. Bachelor’s degree in finance or accounting
  2. Five years of accounting experience
  3. One year of management or supervisory experience
  4. Experience handling accounts payable and general ledger responsibilities
