The Licensed Practical Nurse is responsible for assisting with protocol related clinical assessments of research subjects, administration of investigational product and concomitant medications, performing safety assessments, and assisting in tasks related to the work of the Clinical Research Coordinators.


  • Obtains complete history of patients and research subjects, recording elements of past health history, family history, review of health habits, environmental and occupational data as delegated by the Principal Investigator.
  • The incumbent will be responsible for recording information in the source documents and detailing all changes.
  • Performing clinical assessments of study subjects as per protocol and as delegated by the PI. These assessments include, but are not limited to, collecting & reviewing vital signs, performing ECG and venipuncture, wound care, medication (including Investigational Product) administration, etc.
  • Working closely with patients on a daily basis, observe not only the obvious changes in a patient's physical condition but the subtleties of their emotional state.
  • Maintains the accuracy and completeness of all patient records.
  • Phase one lead responsibilities including: dosing, QC’ing charts and data, assisting RAs/techs with study assessments.
  • Provide appropriate emergency medical coverage for inpatient studies as needed.
  • Review all protocols and other study related materials and ensure compliance.
  • Assist research staff as needed, as well as study clinicians.
  • Ensures all work is done in accordance with Good Clinical Practices (GCPs), Corporate Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), and principles set forth in the CFR 21 and ICH guidelines.
  • Other duties as assigned.

  • The position requires a Licensed Practical Nurse certification with licensure in NY and/or NJ State(s).
  • ACLS Certification strongly preferred.
  • Must have interpersonal skills sufficient to effectively interact with patients and Clinilabs staff in fulfilling the duties and responsibilities of the position.
  • Conflict resolution skills are required.
  • Must have proven experience performing clinical procedures such as venipuncture and ECG.
  • Flexibility to work various shifts: mornings, evenings, nights, weekends are required.
