We are a rapidly growing technology company, enabling electric utilities around the world to lead the energy transition with enhanced transmission grid flexibility, increased resiliency, and more grid capacity for renewable energy. We provide utilities with our patented, non-contact sensors for the real-time monitoring and predictive analytics they need to accelerate the path to a net zero grid. 

The successful Sr Director of Platform Engineering will be a highly technical, servant leader driving the company’s growth and scale by directing the efforts of the hardware and software engineering teams.

This position reports to the Chief Technology Officer, and works closely with the Product, R&D, Analytics and Operations teams.


What will you do?

Core Responsibilities and Key Performance Objectives

-  Ensure the successful definition, development and delivery of complex software and hardware platform programs

-  Build a high performing engineering team by attracting, motivating and retaining technical talent

-  Within Three Months:

-  Ramp up on LineVision technology, business and development processes

-  Establish yourself as a servant leader to your team and colleagues

-  Secure early wins by successfully managing in-flight projects and kicking off new programs per LineVision’s product roadmap

-  Within Six Months:

-  Contribute meaningful insights to the product & technology roadmap

-  Identify and enable development partners to accelerate the commercialization of LineVision’s technology platform

-  Within a Year and Beyond:

-  Build a high performing engineering team 

-  Oversee LineVision’s Quality Management System and development processes to achieve ISO 9001 certification


What do you need to succeed in this role?

-  A shared passion to accelerate the clean energy transition

-  Technical expertise in the areas of sensors, IoT, data analytics, and cloud computing, enabling you to deep-dive into program details, ask insightful questions, challenge respectfully and remove obstacles to team success

-  Mastery of an agile, yet rigorous new product introduction process

-  B.S. degree  in engineering or a related technical degree

-  10+ years of relevant leadership experience, including proven ability to manage engineering teams and deliver innovative new products to market

-  Knowledge of the electricity transmission business desired

-  Exceptional written and verbal communication skills

-  Ability and willingness to occasionally travel to contract manufacturers, remote offices and/or customer install locations as necessary
