Under the general direction of the LucidHealth Director of Revenue Cycle, and the direct supervision of the Chief Operating Officer (COO), performs those duties involving all aspects of the Revenue Cycle to ensure that patient registration, charge capture, billing, and processing of payment receipts are consistently and accurately completed, and in a timely manner. This position also works to increase patient insurance capture, minimize bad debt, improve cash flow, and effectively manage accounts receivables. Responsible for workflow, policies and procedures, and personnel of an Outpatient Diagnostic Imaging Facility Revenue Cycle departments. Performs all office procedures assigned.  


Requirements

Responsibilities/Duties:

  • Directs, manages, oversees, and coordinates the activities of RRC’s Revenue Cycle Departments.
  • Work with access staff to optimize workflows to ensure accuracy and efficiency in patient access, eligibility, scheduling, and prior authorizations (front end of the revenue cycle).
  • Administer a thorough pre-registration process.
  • Contact patients before services are provided to ensure registration accuracy and minimize workload on the backend.
  • Manage prior authorization and eligibility processes.
  • Oversee encounter management
  • Ensure all coding is timely and efficient – facilitate processes for provider and coding team coding, including appropriate education.  
  • Work with providers to ensure timely close of encounters.
  • Drive processes that achieve financial results for billing, collections, and payment processing (back end of the revenue cycle).
  • Timely charge entry/capture, billing/claims submission and payment posting.
  • Electronic claims submission
  • Patient statement batches
  • Review and ensure timely follow-up on outstanding items and assist in the resolution of billing audits.
  • Conduct and oversee denial analysis, implement denial reduction initiatives, and reduce overall denials.
  • Supervise review of patient accounts to ensure accuracy of information and communicate required changes for proper billing purposes.
  • Work with RCM systems to increase digital touchpoints to ease staff workload.
  • Directs, manages, oversees, coordinates, and participates in Revenue Cycle personnel activities, including but not limited to guidance and leadership; compliance with policies and procedures; recruitment and hiring; performance evaluations; counseling and progressive discipline; wage and salary administration; employee relations; orientation and training; attainment of productivity goals, etc.
  • Conducts staff meetings on a regular basis to maintain open communication between management and staff.
  • Plans, develops and implements all written Revenue Cycle policies, procedures, protocols and positions descriptions.
  • Provides practice management reports to RRC and LucidHealth leadership on a regular basis.
  • Monitors reimbursements of Managed Care payors in relation to contracted fee schedules.  
  • Confers with and provides input to the Compliance Officer regarding Revenue Cycle compliance policies, protocols, issues, and related matters.
  • Monitors department expenses to ensure efficient use of resources and compliance with budget allowances.
  • Participates in administrative committees and activities as require.
  • Implements quality control, quality assurance and/or continuous quality assurance programs.
  • Maintains confidentiality of all classified and sensitive information and records.
  • Assures patients’ rights to fair and equitable treatment, response to accounts inquiries with respect for the human dignity of the individual and confidential processing of medical and financial information.
  • Contributes to an atmosphere of warmth, personal interest, and positive emphasis throughout the organization. Work with management on denial trends to identify work flow improvement plans.
  • Manage completion of revenue cycle dashboards and work with departments to drive improvement

Education: 

Required: Associate Degree in health or business discipline

Preferred: Bachelor’s degree in healthcare administration, business administration or related field 


Experience:

Required: 7+ years of experience in account receivable management

  • Minimum of three years’ experience in management
  • Experience with all facets of billing and collecting as a service for client services
  • Managed care and collections management experience preferred. Knowledge of OSHA, Title XXII, HIPAA, and Corporate Compliance preferred.
  • Certified Revenue Cycle Representative (CRCR) certification
