Description

The Associate Director, UX will manage strategic planning for web and mobile projects for a wide array of clients in diverse verticals. The Associate UX Director works to shape and nurture the User Experience department, and they manage and mentor other strategists. The Associate UX Director monitors our projects from start to finish.


The ideal candidate will be a creative thinker with a strong background in UX who is able to define the “why” and the “how” in order to create insight-driven experiences. The Associate UX Director is expected to be a skilled and active listener who is able to translate complex business requirements into actionable recommendations that maximize results and UX.


R2i’s Associate UX Director works across the spectrum of screen-based experiences—websites, mobile experiences, social media, apps, and more. Advanced knowledge of content strategy and UX best practices and methodologies, information architecture and an eye for design are required. The right candidate will excel in all aspects of usability from audience and persona definition, to content strategy, information architecture, lead generation, feature set ideation, personalization and user testing. This candidate will work with clients and internal teams and senior leadership to translate project requirements into detailed scopes of work and project estimates. They will also demonstrate a clear ability to drive and measure customer acquisition, conversion and retention throughout the customer journey.


The right candidate will play an active role in training internal and external customers about the core principles of UX and serve as a source of thought leadership in evolving trends, technologies and practices in usability. They will work closely with account/project management teams to uncover and understand what clients are trying to achieve and work to ensure the projects are successfully and identify opportunities to gain efficiencies that will save time and budget throughout the project lifecycle.


PRINCIPLE DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Lead team in creating top-notch digital experiences that consider innovation and usability. R2i is a highly collaborative organization—we need someone who will not just listen but anticipate the needs, concerns, and input from teammates across departments
  • Guide and mentor mid and junior level strategists in addition to reviewing core deliverables
  • Conduct one on one progress check ins
  • Interface with senior level clients and prospects
  • Support business development and sales team efforts to bring on new clients
  • Lead UX strategy and architecture for various clients, specifically developing, presenting, and implementing integrated solutions based on client goals that exceed expectations
  • Plan and execute user research and analysis, defining clients’ needs, objectives, and audiences through focus groups, interviews, working sessions, surveys, and other discovery methods
  • Serve as the advocate for the user within the project team to ensure all deliverables align with the overall user experience
  • Work with designers throughout web development process to identify content needs and create content to support design deliverables
  • Own the following deliverables throughout the project lifecycle: discovery interviews, personas, competitive analysis, content strategy & recommendations, analytics strategy, personalization strategy and overall strategic blueprint and information architecture
  • Provide project oversight to other UX team members as needed
  • Serve as UX representative in new business and sales opportunities as needed
  • Lead in client-working sessions to gather details on business and user requirements, information architecture and content recommendations
  • Create audience analysis, user personas, customer journey maps and other client-facing deliverables that establish the vision for the project and guide the user experience
  • Identify opportunities for SEO integration throughout the information architecture and content creation phases
  • Conduct in-depth analysis of key performance indicators and identify opportunities for optimization utilizing data from Google Analytics and other analytics tools
  • Build information and content architecture/site maps, sketches, ecosystems, usability workflows and other user experience documents to expose ideas in visual formats
  • Develop audience-specific content, feature set and personalization recommendations
  • Maintain a working knowledge of key technologies used in our delivery process, as well as emerging trends in user experience
  • Identify opportunities offered by AEM, as well as Drupal, Site Core and other technologies that will enhance the value of solutions being delivered
Requirements
  • 5-7 years of experience crafting UX strategy and information architectures for clients across various industries
  • Experience with AEM, Drupal, SiteCore, WP Engine, Adobe Creative Suite, Figma, Adobe XD is required
  • Must have excellent research and UX wire design skills
  • Experience with Miro, Lucid Charts and Heat Mapping is a plus
  • Passion to be the voice of the user and dedication to growing your knowledge in user experience & behaviors
  • Enthusiasm and a passion for all things digital with a dedication to seek out and share trend data on a regular basis
  • Excellent understanding of the overarching process of website development (discovery, information architecture, design, user testing, development, testing, and optimization)
  • Deep understanding of content strategy and personalization and how it relates to the entire user experience
  • Excellent written, verbal, client service and presentation skills
  • Experience managing multiple projects with tight deadlines
  • Ability to work and manage team remotely
