The Guest Services team at Arapahoe Basin is committed to providing excellent customer service to provide a day worth repeating to every guest we interact with.

As a Guest Services Sales Agent I at Arapahoe Basin, you will participate in all point of sale and guest related operations within the Guest Services ticket window and are eligible to be promoted to the higher stages of the Guest Services staging program through training and applicable testing.

This role is the “face” of Arapahoe Basin and will handle all types of guest concerns in a friendly and efficient manner.  

Guest Services Sales Agents at A-Basin are eligible for a staging program based on experience and tested knowledge which relates to applicable pay. Stages II and III will be present on mountain to handle ticket scanning and guest issues at our base and mid mountain lifts.

Essential Responsibilities:

  • Provides excellent customer service to all A-Basin guests to provide a day worth repeating. 
  • Promote the Arapahoe Basin Vibe and culture to all guests
  • Have and share knowledge of general A-Basin facts, terrain status, event information and all products for sale. 
  • Answer phones, emails and brochure requests. 
  • Uses POS system to sell various Abasin products such as lift tickets, season sasses, snow sport packages, rental packages, parking spaces, and more.
  • Helps manage storage, tracking, and distribution of lost & found items.
  • Handles large sums of cash, credit cards and checks.
  • Close down and balance your point of sale including reconciliation of a cash drawer at the end of each shift.
  • Keep work station clean and organized
  • Stock office supplies 
  • Help maintain all office equipment.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Education Requirements:

  • High school diploma or equivalent

Experience Requirements:

  • Previous guest service and cash handling experience – preferred. 

Skills Required:

  • Exceptional organization skills
  • Attention to detail
  • Ability to multi-task
  • Excellent communications skills
  • Basic Computer skills with experience using Windows, Microsoft Office, etc.

Physical Requirements:

  • Must be able to sit or stand for long periods of time
  • Bend, twist, kneel, pull, push and lift approximately 25lbs Must have the dexterity and the ability to use both hands.
  • Ability to withstand high-altitude conditions at all times. 

Other Requirements:

  • Must be available on weekends and holidays. 

Work Environment:

  • You will work approximately 50% of the time indoors and 50% outdoors in a cold, snowy, high alpine, environment. You will work with guests frequently on a daily basis. Riding a chairlift as well as skiing or riding may be required for this role. 


Guest Services Staging Program

Stage I Sales Agents focus primarily on selling products to guests in our ticket windows. Stage II and III Sales Agents are trained to more specific point of sale operations such as the Call Center or Season Pass office and will be present on mountain to assist with guest issues and ensure all lift tickets are scanning properly. This may include skiing or snowboarding while working as well as riding a chairlift.

Guest Services Sales Agent II: Starting Pay: $20.50 per hour

Fulfills all stage I responsibilities and requirements in addition to the following:

  • Check lift tickets and passes for valid access and reports issues to lead, supervisor, or managers
  • Maintain area surrounding Gates throughout the day including ensuring proper snow levels 
  • Communicate information with guests, co-workers, ski patrol and other ski area personnel throughout the day
  • Assist Lift Operations to maintain message board with up-to-date communication 
  • Assist Lift Operations to maintain lift maze throughout the day as volume dictates
  • Ski or Snowboard at an intermediate level or higher – Preferred
  • Must pass all Guest Services training tests including: Tickets/Pass Office test, Call Center Test, Rental Test, Scanning Test 

Guest Services Sales Agent III: Starting Pay: $21 per hour 

Fulfills all stage I & II responsibilities and requirements in addition to the following:

  • Responsible for the open and close procedures each day and is a key holder
  • Help facilitate Lost & Found Policies and Procedures
  • Help facilitate Product Mailings
  • Takes on specific projects as assigned to by the GS Manager and Assistant Manager.
  • Resolve situations related to guest service issues
  • Answer employee and guest questions regarding all aspects of Guest Services and Arapahoe Basin
  • At least 3 months of experience in Arapahoe Basin Guest Services.
