Description

The Financial Analyst works with the Fiscal Manager, in collaboration with the program and compliance departments, to ensure financial and regulatory compliance with the spending down and timely reporting of grant portfolio, including state, federal, and local government grants, as well as other funding sources. In addition to performing regular financial review, forecasting, and reporting, this position will also work on special projects aimed at streamlining and refining current grants. 

Requirements

 

Primary responsibilities include, but are not limited to:  

  • Maintain and monitor all assigned grants/contracts awarded to DESC to ensure all grant and government funding is being allocated accurately across allowed program expenses.  
  • Provide analysis, post-award services, and oversight to ensure compliance with OMB Uniform Guidance and grant and contract-specific requirements.  
  • Handle post-award administration of grants, financial reporting, financial record maintenance, and preparation of monthly, quarterly, and annual fiscal reports.  
  • Serve as an internal monitor for federal awards and assist in agency policies with respect to grants management and match requirements for grants.  
  • Serve as a resource for staff of grant-funded programs for fiscal matters.  
  • Keep current on all local, county, state, and federal funding regulations and requirements that affect FAC's services, mission, and strategic plan.  
  • Review payroll allocations on federal, local, state, and other grants.  
  • Collaborate with the development team on grant budgets and proposals.  
  • Work closely with CFO, Director of Finance & Accounting, Fiscal Manager, Staff Accountant, and other program staff to identify and address areas of concern regarding fiscal related matters.  
  • Monitor the budget for proper use of funds. Ensure agency requirements are maintained regarding purchasing regulations, equipment inventory, and closing documents.  
  • Review all grants and special conditions to ensure finance objectives and requirements are aligned.  
  • Review expenses against approved budgets for accuracy.  
  • Establish and maintain electronic files for each grant-funded project utilizing Launchpad and SharePoint.  
  • Participate as an active team member with all agency departments (i.e., attend meetings as assigned, etc.) so the agency's efforts to assist clients and maintain licensing/contract are coordinated for maximum effectiveness.  
  • Maintain strong, open communication with direct supervisor regarding services delivered, concerns or questions.

Education/Experience  

  • Bachelor’s degree (Accounting preferred) or related degree required  
  • Nonprofit or governmental experience required  
  • MIP experience a plus  
  • Minimum of three (3) years of progressive experience in federal grant management
