NRF has an excellent opportunity for an experienced manager to be responsible for the execution of core member relations functions including member recruitment, onboarding, and engagement to further develop and deepen NRF’s member relationship and the total member value proposition. Additionally, this role will collaborate with membership operations to help support efforts including data management, member reports, and member engagements.


Essential Functions

  • Manage execution of membership engagement and onboarding efforts for new and existing member companies
  • Support development of member engagements with the evolving needs of members and the industry
  • Support strategic engagement events and activities to encourage conference participation, highlight member value proposition to key stakeholders and communicate return on dues investment 
  • Assist in the development of member prospecting and member recruitment data and initiatives 
  • Maintain accurate prospect and recruiting lists utilizing CRM to document and track member prospects' journey through the membership sales cycle
  • Develop and implement a process for updating member briefing reports and documents to share with members
  • Assist in building reports on membership statistics, trends, and satisfaction to communicate the membership department activities to NRF staff and management
  • Support database management and update new member contact forms for internal and external use
  • Manage the NRF Job Board
  • Perform other duties as assigned


  • Bachelor’s degree in business or related field preferred or equivalent membership or business development experience 
  • A minimum of 2-4 years of experience in association membership or new business development
  • Experience with CRM (Salesforce) system 
  • Proven ability to effectively perform in evolving environment and engage effectively with diverse constituents
  • Must be energetic and creative with strong initiative and excellent problem-solving skills
  • Exceptional oral and written communications abilities, as well as the ability to influence and negotiate 
  • Ability to present information to a broad range of audiences
  • Self-directed, data-driven, and goal-oriented, along with the ability to work creatively and productively with colleagues
  • Travel required (less than 10%)
