Description

As a Project Manager Technical Projects, you will be responsible for driving technical projects that align with our company and team initiatives. This includes for-fee as well as non-chargeable technical projects. This role will require significant collaboration with internal divisions, partnered integrators and customer personnel. You will ensure teams remain focused and are accountable for their work in meeting the objectives for successful project outcomes. A s member of our System Technology team, your job would involve:

  • Planning, directing, and coordinating activities for designated projects to ensure project goals and billing milestones are accomplished within the defined time frame
  • Working with both internal and external stakeholders to define project charter, scope, deliverables, and objectives
  • Acting in partnership with Technical Support Specialists as an advocate for the customer
  • Developing relationships with the technical liaisons among MEDITECH's hardware partners
  • Compiling and presenting an executive summary to the executive sponsor at regular intervals which detail project schedule, status, and risks
  • Detailing work plans, schedules, project estimates, and status reports as well as maintaining issue, risk, and/or action logs
  • Determining the resources required for project plan and engaging appropriate management teams to acquire needed resources spanning all MEDITECH shifts
  • Completing work breakdown structure to estimate efforts required for each task and defining project schedule
  • Leading project meetings which are responsible for off hours coordination, project tracking and analysis, resource budgeting and allocation, risk assessment, identifying trends, and Continuous Process Improvement (CPI)
  • Monitoring progress to assure deadlines, standards, and targets are met
  • Recommending and taking action to direct the identification, analysis and solution of problems to keep projects moving forward
  • Managing project scope by ensuring any changes to scope are documented and approved
  • Maintaining accountability to project sponsors, stakeholders, and management to ensure every task is done within the bounds of our quality standards and with the objective of continuously improving our processes
  • Completing post-project lessons learned evaluation to determine how well objectives were met and defining areas for improvement
Requirements
  • Bachelor's or associate degree preferred and/or 2-3 years applicable work or military experience
  • Understanding of the overall architecture of a client/server network, or the vocabulary used to describe one
  • Project Management course work is a plus
  • Experience with Project Management software tools (Smartsheet preferred)
  • Exceptional interpersonal, communication (verbal and written), problem solving, and networking skills
  • Experience working in a team-oriented, collaborative environment
  • Ability to effectively manage projects which may vary in nature and scope
  • Ability to take a patient, yet persistent and proactive, approach to assigned projects and assume responsibility for its success and shortcomings
  • Ability to elicit cooperation from senior management and other teams
