Release Manager

DexCare is seeking a release manager who will collaborate across the Product, Engineering, Commercial, and Customer Experience organizations. You will be a critical member of the organization, defining release plans, improving processes, and coordinating the communication and roll out of our software.  


As the DexCare release manager, you will understand the feature development and release process from planning though post launch. We need you to be a technical expert in how DexCare builds, tests, and releases software. This includes software branching, configuration, creating builds, packaging and publishing releases. While we have a process that works, there is always room for improvement, and we’ll look towards you to help define a north star and collaborate the effort across the various teams in order to get there.  


You are one of the primary gatekeepers for releases. You have awareness of our customers current version and capabilities. You will partner with our data analytics team to expose this knowledge and ensure visibility into feature and release status through real-time dashboards that track the development work, issues, feedback and performance in the field. 


A significant part of your job will be in managing the release. Prior to releasing, you will partner closely with the team to document the release plan and external release notes. On the release day, you will be in the trenches with the engineers, helping coordinate all required steps to ensure an uneventful and successful software upgrade for each of our customer environments.  


Furthermore, you will be intimately aware of all the functionality of DexCare – working closely to ensure it is documented for release notes as well as partnering with our technical writers to help translate it into training materials for our clients.  


Requirements:

  • 3+ years collaborating across an organization to release software 
  • Understanding of release management standards, best practices, control processes and tools, and how to tailor to different organizations 
  • Strong experience with strategic planning, risk management, change management, and project management 
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills 
  • Self-driven, as you will be the sole release manager amongst a team of technical and non-technical people 
  • Experience with CI/CD systems including source control, build systems, automated test systems, and software delivery systems 
  • Experience with Atlassian, Jira and Confluence is preferred
  • Experience with Asana is preferred
