The Village of Mundelein has open positions for full-time Telecommunicators to dispatch Police, Fire and Emergency Medical Service Units, answer incoming 9-1-1 calls, and radio communications. This is a consolidated dispatch center servicing the communities of Mundelein, North Chicago and Winthrop Harbor. We are seeking candidates with a desire to work in an exciting, challenging and rewarding career field providing critical services to the community.

All applicants hired after March 23, 2023 will be eligible for a $2500 hiring bonus to be paid 3 months after successful completion of our training program. 

• ONA high school degree or equivalent is required 
• Ability to obtain and maintain required certifications, including L.E.A.D.S. & EMD 
• Two years of police/fire dispatching experience is preferred 
• Must be flexible to work rotating shifts, weekends and holidays 
• 12 hour night shifts are probable. 
• Must be able to remain calm in emergency situations 
• Prospective candidates must pass a job-related skills assessment prior to interview 
• Employment is contingent upon successful completion of background investigation, drug screen and psychological evaluation
