Objectives of this Role 

This position is responsible for the leadership, structure, planning, management and coordination of all projects and activities of ESS Technologies. Responsibilities include the development and management of strategy, design, integration, modifications, and maintenance of new and legacy solutions and while maintaining ESS Technologies’ standards of reliability and high quality.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Lead, inspire, plan, direct and manage the coordination and overall integration of all activities.
  • Assess project feasibility by analyzing and evaluating available technology, resource needs, and market demand while keeping in mind regulatory requirements, quality parameters, and Company goals
  • Take the lead role in employee management, including talent management and assessment of experience and knowledge requirements within the team.
  • Monitor departmental expenses to budget and propose new annual departmental budgets annually.
  • Direct, review, and approve improvement project proposals.
  • Develop, manage, and grow the team cultivating an innovative and customer-oriented organization.
  • Lead role in employee management, including talent management and assessment of experience and knowledge requirements within the organization.
  • Direct recruitment and make recommendations for the addition or elimination of positions.
  • Oversee annual employee performance reviews including recommendations for salary adjustments, performance improvements, and goal setting.
  • Partner with HR to develop paths for employee growth and training. 
  • Collaborate with other members of Pacteon to expand the overall success of the group, brand, and related technologies.
  • Other tasks and duties as needed and assigned.

Skills, Knowledge and Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s in business, Marketing, Engineering or related area; or equivalent experience.
  • 8+ years in progressive leadership experience in a manufacturing work environment.
  • Knowledge of business and management principles involved in strategic planning, resource allocation, leadership technique, production methods, and coordination of people and resources.
  • Ability to manage, inspire, motivate, and direct employees including ability to identify and assess staff strengths and weaknesses.
  • Capable of assessing, managing, and forecasting the financial expenditures of the organization in keeping with overall Company budget requirements.
  • Communicate effectively, in writing and verbally, with all members of the organization. Analytical and reasoning ability and good judgement for business decisions and strategic planning.

Working Relationships

  • Interact with and work in coordination with Manufacturing, Manufacturing Engineering, Research & Development, Marketing, Sales, Purchasing, Finance, Human Resources, and other departments as required.
  • Interact with customers for technical leadership to support sales process and contracts throughout lifecycle. 
  • Liaison and interaction with various vendors as needed.

Physical/Mental Standards

  • Ability to operate computer.
  • Manual dexterity sufficient for constant use of a keyboard, mouse, and telephone. Speech and hearing sufficient for regular communications. Vision sufficient for use of a computer monitor and transaction documents.
  • Ability to sit for long periods of time.
  • Ability to perform climbing, stooping, crouching, walking, grasping, talking, hearing and repetitive motions.
  • Executing up to 20 pounds of force occasionally, and/or up to 10 pounds of force frequently, and or 10 pounds of force constantly to lift, carry, push, pull or otherwise move objects.
  • Close mental and visual requirements needed to perform work dealing primarily with Engineering, management, and manufacturing. 
  • Ability to plan, schedule, train, check and evaluate work.
