Creative Director - ART (Pharmaceutical Marketing)

The Creative Director should be a proven creative manager who is able to both execute bold and evocative design and manage the execution of assigned creative and production teams. This high attention to detail, healthcare marketing expertise, and production savvy will create success in assigned workstreams and ensure that everyone meets strategies, design expectations, deadlines and budget constraints. The Creative Director must be an expert in translating client briefs to deliver high-quality across the spectrum of media—from print to digital and presentations. This role entails mastering our project management software to communicate with team members worldwide and ensure everyone delivers on well-designed marketing solutions that meet our Xavier Creative House standards.

The role is influenced by the demands of fast-paced agency life with equal importance on creativity, being on-brand and on-time, and considering regulatory guidelines in the Pharmaceutical, Medical Device and Biotech industries.


Objectives of this Role

  • Oversee and execute the design of bold and evocative creative solutions that meet project goals
  • Responsible for multiple workstreams and oversee and creative team execution to ensure on time and on budget which must be managed in PM software
  • Collaborate with the account, traffic and brand strategy teams
  • Develop design solutions that translate marketing objectives across business units into clear and motivating creative strategies
  • Review the production of all presentations, web, print, and digital marketing collateral to ensure it delivers on the creative brief and adheres to brand guidelines
  • Elevate and visually reinvent PPT presentations to better communicate objectives and engage audiences
  • Continue to develop personal creativity and leadership skills to develop the team 
  • Meet budget standards by forecasting and managing expenses


Daily and Monthly Responsibilities

  • Prioritize work across engagements based on short- and long-term needs, establishing production schedules by collaborating with traffic and strategy team members
  • Work with cross-functional team of creative talent, production experts and client service managers in the strategic development of design deliverables
  • Execute multiple design projects from conception to completion and monitor delegated projects to ensure they adhere to the budget and timeline constraints
  • Take responsibility for the creative vision ensuring that all of the client’s creative output/visuals are consistent with the overall brand and Xavier Creative House standards
  • Review feedback from clients and making alterations according to the clients' needs
  • Present ideas confidently and present the creative vision clearly to clients, as well as communicate in the same manner to members of the creative team
  • Ask smart questions, take risks, and champion new ideas

Skills and Qualifications

  • Five or more years of experience as a senior-level designer 
  • Bachelor’s degree in graphic design or advertising 
  • Healthcare marketing experience in pharma, biotech, and/or med-device.
  • Ability to work effectively independently and collaborate in a virtual agency environment
  • Must be detailed and process oriented to effectively manage project resources and timelines
  • Excellent conceptual skills with the ability to resolve complex design and communication issues to execute and/or direct execution 
  • Ability to understand detailed regulatory requirements and determine a plan that will ensure they are met or exceeded
  • In-depth knowledge of graphic design, Adobe Creative Suite, and Microsoft Office, particularly PPT and digital best practices
  • Excellent collaboration and communication skills to share the creative vision, concepts, ideas, and solutions clearly and effectively to stakeholders, internal teams, and clients
  • Great time management and multi-tasking skills
