Position Description


Reporting to the Senior Director, Extended National Teams, the Head Coach of the Women’s Futsal National Team will be responsible for coaching the U.S. Women’s Futsal National Team, helping develop individual players to compete at the sport’s highest levels. Additionally, manage the daily high-performance requirements of the national team players and staff within training and competition environments. The candidate will be responsible for guiding the team through multiple domestic camps in preparation for regional and international tournament competitions.


Primary Responsibilities 

  • Support the creation of the Women’s Futsal National Team player pool
  • Manage per diem staff on the build-up to and during training and competition
  • Support club and player development at all levels of the game, including helping to facilitate competitive opportunities within each discipline at a local, regional and national level
  • Link with crucial partners and providers to raise awareness leading to player identification via soccer-specific and non-soccer settings
  • Support the creation and delivery of a talent identification matrix across disciplines
  • Promote, identify and aid the transition of 11 a side or indoor player to national team level Futsal players
  • Communicate and interact with stakeholders from membership, media, donors, sponsors, etc., as assigned
  • Work with the Senior Director of ENT on all program areas (i.e., including player identification/contracts, scheduling, session design/delivery, budgeting,)
  • Work collaboratively with the ENT development managers on all program areas (i.e., player enhancement, education, scouting, and program development)
  • Build mutually beneficial relationships with Professional Clubs, DA, Non-DA Clubs, College and staff working within the game 
  • Assist with other program duties as assigned including, but not exclusive to, coaching other ENT National Teams out with your core area
  • Lead and coach the Women’s Futsal National Team at domestic, regional, and international competitions
  • Lead the creation and delivery of a talent identification matrix for Women’s Futsal 
  • Create a database of current Futsal Soccer players (youth, adult, overseas and domestic).
  • Work with clubs, leagues, and coaches to release National Team players for international competition
  • Support the creation and delivery of specialized coach education courses for Futsal Soccer
  • Create and implement a periodization model reflecting the performance and development requirements of the Futsal Soccer NT
  • Design and implement player development plans inclusive of individualized training plans for players covering technical, tactical, and physical assessments
  • Support the creation of better playing environments at a domestic level (i.e., club development and competitive non-NT opportunities)
  • Produce clear and concise reports tracking the Women’s Futsal NT players
  • Create a database of current Women’s Futsal players (youth, adult, overseas and domestic) and potential 11 a side or Indoor players to transition into the Futsal NT
  • Evaluates and reports on the effectiveness of the program and monitor trends through internal/external and qualitative/quantitative research to make improvements as needed
  • Assist with other ENT program duties as assigned
Requirements

Minimum Qualifications 

  • USSF “A” License or equivalent experience within Futsal Soccer 
  • Strong leadership skills and ability to solve problems and execute decisions under pressure
  • Capable of working in fast-paced and demanding environments
  • Excellent organizational, data collection, planning, and leadership skills
  • Must be able to connect “micro” details to the “macro” vision and mission
  • Proficient experience with Microsoft Suite (Word, PowerPoint, Excel, and Outlook) and Video Editing 
  • Excellent written and verbal communication combined with a professional demeanor
  • Able and willing to travel up to 10% of the year
  • Able and willing to travel non-traditional hours, including evenings and weekends as needed

Desired Qualifications 

  • Passion for soccer
  • Bilingual (English, Spanish, or other)
  • Proven history of successfully managing players within a soccer environment
  • Proven history of developing players 
  • Thorough institutional knowledge of U.S. Soccer’s mission, goals, technical plan, policies, practices, and procedures
  • Previous experience with a club or national team
