Description

1. Support the communications team with copywriting, editing and research 

  • Draft copy for print and digital communications 
  • Submit drafts to the marketing copywriter for edits, revisions and approvals
  • Draft and build email campaigns and surveys as needed 
  • Maintain contact lists 
  • Assist with the maintenance and sharing of inbound leads

2. Perform content and website updates on the digital newsroom and research webpages

  • Build, publish and maintain content including articles, blogs, research, press releases, new briefs, etc. on the digital newsroom
  • Tag content appropriately to improve SEO 
  • Assist with the maintenance of internal and external newsroom ads
  • Perform daily or weekly updates to ensure that content is current 
  • Conduct regularly scheduled audits to ensure the content is up-to-date and the website is functioning correctly

3. Assist with maintenance of NCCER’s presentation library 

  • Write speaking proposals and speaker bios for conferences and events
  • Routinely create, update and review presentation slides in conjunction with the marketing manager
  • Assist in maintaining the presentation library to include updating pre-built presentations, speaking proposals, headshots and bios as needed

4. Assist communications team with preparing metrics reports by collecting, summarizing and updating data from emails, social media, earned and placed media and other channels

  • Collaborate with the marketing coordinator to update communications metrics in the quarterly marketing reports 

5. Coordinate and maintain internal communications to include employee newsletters, invitations and digital signage for onsite monitors

  • Monitor incoming digital sign requests
  • Create slides within the onsite monitor software and update content to reflect current organizational news and events
  • Compile, compose, build and send bi-weekly staff newsletter updates 
  • Compose event invitations in conjunction with marketing coordinator and graphic designers

6. Conduct research to analyze market trends, customer behavior and competitive landscape


7. All marketing team members will support the other departments within NCCER through meetings and update


8. All marketing team members will keep themselves informed of construction and maintenance industry trends

Requirements
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Marketing, Communications or relevant field required
  • Minimum two years of experience in a related field, which may include internships
  • Self-starter with excellent oral and written communication skills
  • Ability to work effectively in a multi-task, detail-oriented, and deadline-driven environment
  • Creativity, initiative, organization, good judgment, and the ability to express thoughts clearly and simply
  • Must be proactive, positive, a team player, and have a “get it done” approach
  • Knowledge of traditional and digital marketing, content marketing, and social media marketing 
  • Must be dependable in attendance and performance

Software Skills: 

  • Proficient in Microsoft Office suite including Microsoft PowerPoint, Word, Excel, and Outlook
  • Experience with Google marketing tools including Ads, Analytics, Tag Manager and Data Studio highly preferred
  • Contact management, website content management and/or html knowledge preferred
  • Adobe Creative Cloud (Photoshop, Illustrator and InDesign) preferred
