Indiana Farmers Insurance is currently looking for a Facilities Technician to join our Team. The ideal candidate will be local to central Indiana as this is an in-office position.


This position is responsible for maintaining the grounds and conditions within the office building. Daily routine repairs and preventative maintenance can be expected and proactively coordinating with outside vendors and contractors, to maintain optimal operations of the facility, will be required. Qualifications for the Facilities Technician:

  • High School degree or equivalent
  • Basic PC and keyboarding skills
  • Ability to safely and effectively operate hand and power tools, commercial lawn mowers, tractors and various other pieces of maintenance equipment
  • Basic maintenance experience
  • Possess a valid Indiana driver’s license

Working conditions for Facilities Technician:

  • Exposure to various weather conditions, dirt, and noise
  • Walking and standing for extended periods of time 
  • Stooping, bending, reaching, and working in uncomfortable positions occasionally 
  • Occasional heavy lifting up to 50 lbs.
Requirements

Responsibilities for the Facilities Technician:

  • Maintaining responsibility for performing daily checks on the air conditioning or heating for proper operation and temperature control
  • Using various hand and power tools to perform routing minor repairs inside the building to include changing light bulbs, replacing ceiling and floor tiles, patching drywall and other similar functions
  • Removing wastepaper, recycling, empty boxes and other litter throughout the building as needed
  • Coordinating deliveries of supplies (including pallets of paper, beverages, etc.) from the dock and drives company vehicle to pick up supplies from local companies, as needed
  • Maintaining parking lots and walkways by removing debris, snow and ice in conjunction with snow removal contractor
  • Coordinating regular inspections on various equipment, including fire alarms, security systems, elevators and heating and air conditioning units as required to ensure the safe and effective operations of all key systems in conjunction with requirements
  • Performing activities to maintain the facility and grounds in an attractive and orderly condition, including mowing and trimming grass, raking leaves, removing weeds, and pruning shrubs
  • Touching up paint both inside and outside of the building as needed
