CCLS Office & Facilities Manager

Under supervision of the Director of Administration, the Office & Facilities Manager is responsible for making sure that CCLS buildings and their services meet the needs of the people that work in them. The incumbent will oversee and/or perform skilled, specialized work in maintenance and repair of all CCLS facilities; provide technical advice on plumbing, mechanical, carpentry, or electrical problems; demonstrate a full understanding of all applicable policies, procedures and work methods associated with assigned duties; provide custodial/janitorial assistance on a temporary/as needed basis. The position will oversee and coordinate management of onsite facility related contractors, such as general construction, alarm systems, locks/keys and access for three buildings.

This unique position will be responsible for procurement of all Fresno-based office and facilities supplies, furnishing and equipment through approved vendors in addition to working with the staff that procure supplies in Visalia and the Office Manager for Merced to ensure their procurement needs are met. The incumbent may also be asked to perform other related duties as required.

Salary Range: DOE $63,636 to $69,492 + $2,200 annual parking pass

  • Performs a variety of duties involving basic clerical work, including use of a computer to accomplish building servicing needs of staff, and involving light to heavy manual labor, in the operation, maintenance, repairing and cleaning of all CCLS offices, equipment, and property;
  • Inspects worksites and equipment to locate conditions needing repair and maintenance;
  • Prepares job cost estimates, materials lists, and time estimates;
  • Procures office and facility supplies, furnishings, and equipment for the Fresno office, and assists Visalia and Merced Office Managers in procuring such items for their respective offices;
  • Demonstrates a full understanding of applicable policies, procedures and work methods associated with assigned duties;
  • Provides information to staff as is appropriate;
  • Establishes positive working relationships with CCLS staff, vendors, contracted workers, and all CCLS visitors or clients;
  • Receives and efficiently prioritizes and responds to all requests for assistance from CCLS staff;
  • Performs with a high degree of independence and may be responsible for project supervision of one or more less experienced workers;
  • Drives a own passenger vehicle, or light truck, with a valid California driver’s license and proper insurance, to pick up, transport and deliver inter-office mail, documents, equipment and supplies;
  • Performs custodial/janitorial work in all CCLS offices, as is needed, on a temporary basis, which may include:
  • Clean entrance glass to office suite doors;
  • Clean and disinfect hard surfaces, such as breakroom counters and sinks;
  • Remove trash from office waste cans and replace liners;
  • Dusts, mop and damp mop hard floor surfaces;
  • Vacuum and occasional shampooing of carpets;
  • Dust window sills and ledges;
  • Dust and periodically damp wipe/disinfect wall switches, door frames, and outlets;
  • Wipe light fixtures for dust and insects;
  • Dust vents upon request;
  • Scrub marks off walls and baseboards;
  • Dust office desks/tables upon request;
  • Breakdown and remove boxes to appropriate recycling dumpster outside of building;
  • Performs related duties as required.


  • Must demonstrate strong communication and interpersonal skills; customer service oriented;
  • Two or more years of experience with maintenance of buildings and business facilities, including communication and coordination of services with a property management company;
  • Experience in a legal aid services firm, non-profit, or similar organization is highly desirable;
  • High school diploma or GED completion AND at least two years of continuous, full- time paid general labor or comparable experience. Basic understanding of electrical, plumbing, and carpentry;
  • Ability to work with minimal supervision;
  • Must be organized, detail-oriented, self-motivated, and able to multi-task;
  • Ability to learn and implement CCLS policies and procedures;
  • Preferred Two or more years of operating office equipment, including computer skills for emailing staff/contractors, online purchasing, and time keeping;
  • Understand and follow oral and written instructions;
  • Working knowledge of the use and care of the tools and equipment used in the maintenance and repair of buildings and business facilities;
  • Knowledge of the occupational hazards and safety precautions used in the area assigned;
  • Ability to perform heavy manual labor for extended periods and under unfavorable weather conditions;
  • Read and write English at the level necessary to perform the job;
  • Safely operate light equipment and vehicles;
  • Establish and maintain effective working relationships;
  • Must be able to work flexible hours.


  • Ability to push/lift 75 pounds;
  • Ability to climb ladders/step stools;
  • Bending at waist, sitting, kneeling, climbing, walking, crouching as job may require;
  • Sitting for extended periods at a desk.


Please note that CCLS currently requires all staff to be fully vaccinated and to have at least one booster (if eligible). Medical and religious exemptions to this requirement are also available.
