General Description of Position:
It is the responsibility of the Full Bench Prep Technician to prepare SCR catalyst samples for testing and support lab personnel. Under the direction of the Full Bench Lab Manager, the prep technician will cut plate samples, measure catalyst samples, prepare XRF samples, and assist in sample flow through the lab.
Duties and Responsibilities:
Observe work rules with an emphasis on safety
Cut plate samples
Measure and prepare catalyst for bench reactor testing
Receive field samples and record sample condition
Load and unload reactors
Package and move tested samples to short and long term storage
Support lab technicians
Assist the Bench Lab Manager and Bench Project Manager with various tasks
Skills and Abilities
Strong degree of mechanical aptitude
General knowledge of Microsoft Excel
Organized and detail oriented
Able to maintain accurate written records
Strong communication skills both verbal and written
Able to collaborate and work as part of a team
Education and Experience Requirements:
1+ years’ experience in a lab or industrial setting
This job operates in a plant environment. This role routinely requires moving around equipment thus the need for safety at all times. Temperature can be hot in the summer and cold in the winter. The noise level is high and requires attentiveness. Environment can be dusty at times.
Physical requirements include occasional lifting/carrying of up to 40 pounds; visual acuity, speech and hearing; hand and eye coordination and manual dexterity necessary to operate maintenance equipment. Subject to sitting, standing, climbing, stooping, reaching, walking, twisting and kneeling to perform the essential functions. Working conditions are inside and outside with routine repeated exposure to temperature variations, damp/wet surfaces, cleaning fluids, and dirty environment.
