Who are we looking for? 

A highly motivated and driven self-starter Material Handler who can work well in a team-oriented atmosphere. The ideal candidate should have some experience working in a warehouse environment using forklifts and pallet jacks. The shift hours are 9:00am - 5:30pm M-F at our Hartford location.  


What you will be doing:

You will be responsible for moving parts and materials between the Rytec facilities to ensure production has what they need in order to operate. You will also supply production areas with needed materials from inventory.

SUMMARY: 

This position is responsible for moving parts and materials between the Rytec facilities to ensure production has what they need in order to operate.


ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

  • Supply production area with needed materials from inventory.
  • Load materials to or from pallets and pull parts if shipment is not completed prior to pickup.
  • Make pick-ups and delivers to all Rytec facilities using company’s flatbed truck.
  • Assist with packaging shipments and loading truck to ensure that space is maximized to its fullest potential and the most critical items are being transported safely.
  • Performs a maintenance check daily on the truck prior to its use and documents this activity.
  • Uses forklifts to move material and load truck.

REQUIRED SKILLS/ABILITIES:

  • Excellent oral and written communication skills in order to interact with employees.
  • High attention to detail and excellent organizational skills.
  • Experience with pallet jacks and forklift for material handling.
  • Must have a valid driver’s license and clean driving record.
  • Knowledge of Rytec parts.
  • Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos. Ability to write simple correspondence. Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to customers and/or other employees of the organization.
  • Ability to add and subtract two digits numbers and to multiply and divide with 10’s and 100’s. Ability to perform these operations using units of American money and weight measurement, volume, and distance.
  • Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed but uninvolved written or oral instructions. Ability to deal with problems involving a few concrete variables in standardized situations.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:

  • High school diploma or general education degree (GED); six months to one year related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS AND WORK ENVIRONMENT:

  • Ability to lift 50 pounds frequently and 100 pounds occasionally.
  • Squatting, kneeling and standing frequently.
  • This position is exposed to dust/dirt frequently and fumes, vapors and mists occasionally.
  • This position is in a manufacturing environment where the noise level is high.
Salary Description
$21/hr
