Description

Did you ever wish you were the voice behind sassy social media brands like Wendy’s and Duolingo? Do you speak Gen-Z and live for “IYKYK” culture?  We’re looking for an experienced consumer brand copywriter and master of memes who can join us (and our client) on the road to iconic.


As the social media agency of record for a number of global brands, our cross-functional marketing team needs a writer who can think social-first for major consumer brands, but who is also skilled and humble enough to take on print collateral, SEO-optimized web copy, blog posts and email newsletters for smaller clients too. As the senior copywriter, you’ll collaborate closely with content managers and strategists to craft engaging copy across a variety of social channels and marketing mediums, seamlessly transitioning tone and voice across multiple brand identities and audience profiles. You’ll also participate in creative concepting for editorial calendars each month, coming to the table with inspiration from TikTok, Reels, BeReal and whatever comes next (Corn Kid, anyone?). 


This role sits on the Content Team and reports into the Senior Content Strategist. While we are headquartered in Washington DC with hubs in New York City and Los Angeles, this role can be remote.


ROLES & RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Executes on clients’ always-on content strategy by developing social media, email, blog, and website content
  • Collaborates across teams on larger campaign initiatives, ultimately delivering campaign copywriting from the time of concepting through to execution 
  • Participates in the creative process, working in tandem with the creative studio to ensure the visual and copy are in sync 
  • Owns and implements SEO writing best practices, with the ability to seamlessly translate them into practice in the form of blogs and website copy
  • Develops and manages social media strategy playbooks, editorial calendars, and shot lists, 
  • Collaborates with in-house creative studio of designers, photographers and videographers to bring the editorial calendar vision to life
  • Collectives creative assets and packages monthly content calendars along with copy for review
  • Participates in reporting and analysis discussion to identify insights around content performance to inform future strategy
  • Owns deliverable timelines and helps shepherd process, communicating with internal agency leadership and client contacts on a regular basis for copy review and approval
Requirements
  • Bachelor’s degree with a concentration in marketing, business administration, English, or communications
  • 3-5 years of experience in social media marketing, communications, or PR 
  • Knowledge and understanding of social media platforms and reporting mechanisms
  • Strong writing skills, solid organizational skills, and the ability to analyze, evaluate, and effectively communicate results
  • Exceptional attention to detail, time management and multi-tasking skills with the ability to prioritize and proactively communicate about deadlines
  • Experience with lifestyle and technology brands a plus
