Salary Range: $60,000 - $72,500 BOE 

Office Location:  Home Based - San Diego, CA

The San Diego Chapter Manager (SDCM) position is responsible for building and maintaining strong relationships with our current and prospective Board Members in the San Diego Chapter. The SDCM is also responsible for the planning and execution of chapter events/activities within the San Diego region. The SDCM reports to the Vice President of Membership. The San Diego Chapter Manager is a results-oriented person with a strong background in customer service, sales and event and meeting planning. Excellent communication and organizational skills are necessary. An understanding of and prior work experience in the foodservice or government affairs industry is a plus. 



Essential Duties and Responsibilities: 

  • Management of the San Diego CRA Chapter. This includes, but is not limited to, managing chapter bylaws and subcommittees, board member recruitment, annual work plans, financials, board meeting agendas, minutes, and communications.
  • Assist and support the Chapter Executive Team and committees in planning events in specified areas. This includes, but is not limited to, procuring sponsorships, securing locations for events, managing registration and volunteers, and creating and distributing marketing materials promoting the events. Physical support during events is required.
  • Required to strengthen member base by maintaining rapport with existing members and chapter leadership through telephone, written and personal contact.
  • Provides sales support and direction for chapter events and activities, which relate to membership growth and retention and the Association’s long-range goals and objectives.
  • Responsible for entering all the correct contact information into the CRA database for prospective members, and for keeping an accurate and current record of all contact with the members and prospective members.
  • Adhere to CRA policies and procedures within the Member Development Department and the Association. 
  • Identify prospective members within assigned region. 
  • Responsible for all other assignments as defined by the VP of Membership and the San Diego Chapter Executive Team.
  • Cooperation and collaboration with all CRA team members.
  • Travel around the San Diego area is required.

Education and/or Experience:

Requires excellent communication and customer service skills and exceptional follow-through. Association Management and working with a Board of Directors is recommended. Must have experience with large scale events, budgets, vendor negotiations, and sponsorship solicitations. Work experience in the restaurant or hospitality industry is a plus. Associates degree or higher is preferred.
