Job Type


To manage and ensure the efficient and effective day to day operations of assigned residential program(s), while promoting each person's “power of potential.” To ensure staff assist the people AIM serves to achieve their personal goals while promoting independence and self-confidence. To support, mentor, and supervise Direct Support Professionals in assigned programs. To ensure documentation is completed and service provisions have been met. 


• High School diploma\GED, bachelors preferred.

• [3] Years experience working in the field of ID/DD, or related field preferred

• [1] Year Managerial experience preferred.

• Knowledge of program specific Regulations.

• Willingness to maintain a 40 hour / week flexible schedule, including multiple shifts and days of the week.

• CPR/First Aid Certification. (Training Provided)

• AMAP Certification. (Training Provided)

• SCIP Certification. (Training Provided)

• Valid NYS Drivers License acceptable to Agency insurance standards (Current/ Valid Insurance card if using own vehicle).

• Ability to work independently, organizational skills, reliable decision making with demonstrated critical thinking skills.


Physical/Cognitive Requirements:

•Sitting and/or computer use for extended periods of time.

•Bending, reaching, pushing, and pulling as needed in the workplace. Ability to safely lift50lbs.

•Demonstrated interest and ability to facilitate the desired outcomes of the Individuals served, while adhering to agency standards and policies, as well as state regulations.

•Maintain training and certification in all required areas

•Ability to remain calm in stressful or demanding situations.

•Ability to maintain confidentiality.

Essential Functions:

• Manage the day-to-day operations of the assigned residential program, supervise, train, commend, discipline, and evaluate job performance of assigned employees.

• Participate in the screening and hiring process for staff in assigned program.•

 Train staff in program-specific duties and needs, and review all plans for each person served in the assigned program

• Implement, and ensure staff's implementation and documentation of each person’s plan, including participation in circle of support meetings as requested/required by the person

• Collaborate on a regular basis with appropriate team members, ensuring a person centered approach is applied to the implementation of plans, programs, staff action plans, goals, and activities for each person.

• Monitor/implement compliance measures including required audits, drills and meetings.

• Work in a collaborative manner with the people served to ensure effective and efficient staffing in conjunction with the needs of the programs and budgetary constraints. Ensure that DSP’s are cross-trained for programs within the assigned group.

• Perform medical/health related functions adhering to AMAP Policy and Procedures.

• Coordinate, schedule, transport, attend, assure documentation and follow up of each person's appointments and meetings.

• Maintain all records, ensuring filing, accuracy, compliance, and updating as needed.

Residential Manager 3

•Operate agency vehicles in compliance with agency policies/procedures, and traffic laws, assuring documenting vehicle maintenance/condition. To provide for/assure the appropriate use/care of individual/agency equipment.

• Be responsible for individual funds/ledgers, petty cash.

• Ensure individual personal needs are met, including bedding, room set-up, decorations, organization, considering individual preferences.

• Provide a safe work/living environment including compliance with all safety policies/procedures and regulations.

• Evaluate, implement, monitor and take corrective action regarding safety.

• Assign and maintain staff schedules. Cover vacations and call-ins. Maintain appropriate staff support to ensure all needs are met. Monitor time off requests and call-ins, and address as appropriate.

• Keep schedule flexible to ensure contact and observation of all staff, ensuring consistency in individual care and program implementation.
