Summary

As the head bartender at Heritage Grand Bakery, you will work closely with the management tea and the culinary team on all aspects of the bar operations, including bar counter service. Your communication skills, attention to details and proactivity will be the keys to run the bar operations successfully.

The head bartender will be assisting in multiple areas of the beverage program, including development and selection of the spirit and craft cocktails program. You will be actively involved in teaching current and new procedures to the bar team as well as cocktail and bar recipes to all FOH staff.

While leading the bar team, you will ensure optimum performance while maintaining the highest level of service and cleanliness across the bar area. 


  

Responsibilities

  • Encourage and assist the service team in engaging each guest with Heritage cocktails and wine program.
  • Implement a culture of respect, accountability, and teamwork behind the bar.
  • Create seasonal craft cocktails recipes.
  • Ensure each bartender has been thoroughly trained on each recipe, including craft cocktails, classic cocktails and well drinks.
  • Ensure consistency through each drink served and made by the bar team.
  • Ensure each order is delivered in timely fashion. If any delay occurs, alert management immediately so they can intervene and help. 
  • Ensure drink and food menus has been presented at all bar guests, help making recommendations and answering questions regarding beverages and food program. 
  • Ensure each beverage orders from guests and service staff have been taken care of.
  • Ensure each drink and food order have been accurately and immediately entered in the POS system.
  • Ensure each alcoholic and non-alcoholic drinks have been prepared using Heritage’s standard drink recipes, appropriate garnishes, and glassware.
  • Ensure each guest payment has been properly processed.
  • Maintains the bar's appearance in an attractive and functional manner to support efficient drink preparation and promotion of beverages.
  • Ensure cleanliness in all areas of the bar including counters, sinks, and shelves.
  • Ensure execution of daily and weekly cleaning schedule for entire bar space.
  • Monitor bar inventory and COGS. 
  • Communicate each bar request to the F&B manager on weekly basis. Oversee ordering of certain item as needed.
  • Monitor glassware inventory and communicate any reorder needed to the F&B manager.
  • Participate in daily pre-shift meeting.
  • Provide staff training to the service staff on monthly basis. Education is key!
  • Assist in hiring, training, and scheduling of the bar staff.

· Ability to communicate and understand the predominant language(s) of the restaurant’s trading area.

· 3 years of bartending experience required.

· Knowledge of service and food and beverage environment.

· Ability to work positively in a fast-paced environment.

· History of effective collaboration and communication in working with managers, service, and culinary staff.

· Demonstrated knowledge and experience with managing inventory and cost control.

· Work in a standing position for long periods of time (up to 10 hours).

· Ability to lift up to 30lb
