Description

Our Tax and Escrow Analysts are responsible for the setup and maintenance of tax contracts for various loans within Merchants’ servicing portfolio.  The Tax and Escrow Analyst will also perform escrow analyses to ensure sufficient collections on escrows.  This position requires a detail-oriented, deadline-driven individual who can manage multiple tasks and projects simultaneously.  This position will have extensive internal and external customer interaction.  Success in this position will produce a portfolio that ensures tax obligations are being met and sufficient escrows are collected to protect the assets of borrowers and investors.  


After one year as our Tax and Escrow Analyst, you will know you were successful if you…

  • Manage tax contracts with 3rd party vendor
  • Research tax issues to ensure accurate reporting and oversight
  • Point of contact for tax questions both internally and externally
  • Review Appraisals and legal descriptions to confirm tax inventory report
  • Process tax payments manually or via tax files from 3rd party vendor
  • Research or obtain tax payment verification for non-escrowed parcels
  • Create and/or update tax parcels in the servicing system
  • Process escrow analyses to ensure sufficient collections for tax, insurance, and/or MIP
  • Administering Mortgage Insurance Premium (MIP) payments and escrows
  • Manage tax jurisdiction records in the servicing system


Requirements

What we are looking for…

  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in real estate tax profession, preferably in multifamily loan administration
  • Requires proficiency in computer software such as Microsoft Office; specifically Outlook, Word, and Excel
  • Bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution is preferred with a focus on accounting, finance, and or real estate area.
