Description

FOX Architects seeks a dynamic Project Designer II (PD) with 5 to 8 years’ experience to join our award-winning Interior design studio. This position is located at our Washington DC studio where everyone’s ideas are valued and teamwork is celebrated. The primary responsibilities of the Technically-Focused Designer are to make certain that the excellence of each project is properly delineated with minimal supervision while supporting our workplace design projects. This role will focus on the technical aspects of the design process including implementation of design and construction documents and will perform in conjunction with Project Managers, Studio Directors and Principals to maintain project quality, profitability, performance and client satisfaction.

  • Knowledge of construction methods and systems appropriate to the firm’s work. 
  • Proficient with REVIT, Microsoft Office Suite. 
  • Possesses strong organizational and time management techniques. 
  • Ability to organize and perform multiple tasks concurrently and efficiently. 
  • Strong interpersonal skills. 
  • Ability to work independently or on a team. 
  • Proven ability to meet deadlines without compromising the design/technical intent or relationship with fellow workers.

  • Strong presentation skills both written and verbal. 
Requirements
  • Minimum 4-year degree in Architecture or Interior Design.
  • Minimum 5 years of progressive experience in interior design with an emphasis on commercial office projects. 
  • Emphasis on the Technical Aspects of Interior Design is required. 
  • Knowledge of construction methods and systems appropriate to the firm’s work. 
  • Proficient in REVIT, Microsoft Office Suite. 
  • Budgeting, scheduling, and assembling capabilities (i.e. contracts, specifications and drawings). 
  • Knowledge of current laws, codes and titles in relation to construction. 
  • Strong interpersonal, leadership and teambuilding skills.
