About the role:

Bakkt is seeking a Director, Partner Activation, to join our fast-paced marketing team. We’re looking for a versatile marketer who will drive marketing strategy and execution with our partners, who range from large financial institutions and financial technology companies to merchants, hospitality companies and gig economy service providers. The ideal candidate will have a passion for building strong partnerships, a desire to innovate and utilize test-and-learn strategies, and an eagerness to dig into data. This candidate will help Bakkt grow its customer base and revenue through user acquisition and engagement programs. 

The ideal candidate will have partner management/partner marketing experience, as well as experience designing and deploying marketing campaigns to drive customers through the marketing funnel from acquisition through ongoing engagement. This position reports to the VP, Partner Activation and will work closely with the rest of the Bakkt marketing team, as well as the Product and Customer Success organizations.


  • Develop, scale, and manage marketing acquisition and engagement programs, with a focus on digital marketing and delivering personalized customer experiences
  • Build strong rapport with external partner marketing leads to design and execute marketing campaigns
  • Collaborate with cross-functional business partners (Business Development, Product, Design, Finance, Legal, Customer Success, etc.) to implement innovative strategies and initiatives to deliver on Bakkt’s core KPIs 
  • Partner closely with the Product Team on designing capabilities to facilitate marketing promotions
  • Serve as the Marketing team’s expert on Bakkt’s crypto product offerings
  • Articulate the Bakkt story to partners and their customers via marketing copy, presentations, and sales enablement materials
  • Establish performance metrics and criteria
  • Create case studies to encourage ongoing and incremental collaboration with partners
  • Prepare weekly, monthly, and quarterly performance  reports for the CMO and Executive Leadership Team


  • Partner management/relationship management/partner marketing experience
  • Ability to work in cross-functional teams, internally and with external partners, to drive results both as an individual contributor and team player
  • Innovative, entrepreneurial approach to digital marketing, with a curiosity for testing new strategies 
  • Analytical mindset with an emphasis on analyzing data to drive and execute actionable insights
  • Collaborative work ethos with a problem-solving approach  
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Exemplary  work ethic and the ability to take initiative and work independently
  • Strong organizational, multi-tasking, and prioritizing skills within a fast-paced matrixed environment
  • Minimum of 7 years marketing experience; ideal candidate will have digital marketing experience in financial services, loyalty/rewards, travel, and/or retail industries 
  • Sales  enablement/B2B marketing experience is a plus, but is not required
  • BA/BS degree
