JOB SUMMARY

Nonn's Flooring, Inc. is currently seeking a skilled candidate to succeed in the role of Sales Manager. This is a leadership role reporting directly to the President/CEO and overseeing day to day operations in the showroom.


ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

  • Ensure customers/clients are treated with exemplary service throughout the entire sales process.
  • Train sales staff to be empowered to handle customer/client service issues at front line levels.
  • Handle customer/client service situations with prompt and efficient procedures.
  • Maintain a clean and organized retail showroom.
  • Establish a safe and efficient warehouse environment.
  • Create and maintain a safe and inviting store front.
  • Routinely setup product knowledge training for the entire staff.
  • Organize one on one training sessions as required.
  • Coordinate outside vendor assisted training courses.
  • Encourage sales staff onsite install visits and measures.
  • Coordinate internal training with various department heads.
  • Review sales and gross margin reports with individual salespeople.
  • Monitor, review and discuss customer/client accounts receivable statuses with salespeople.
  • Monitor sales verses sales goals for each salesperson.
  • Hire, discipline and fire retail staff as required.
  • Adhere to all company policies and procedures.
  • Update product pricing on sales floor as required.
  • Conduct sales meetings as needed.
  • Keep showroom products up to date and cutting edge.
  • Backup to sales staff to help customers/clients, take payments, enter orders, make install packets.

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES This position carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with company guidelines, policies and procedures, and applicable laws.  Supervisory responsibilities include interviewing, hiring, and training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems.

  • Supervise sales staff. 
Requirements

EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE & QUALIFICATIONS To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily.  The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill and/or ability required.  Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions.

  • A 2 or 4 year degree in Interior Design is preferred but not required.
  • Prior experience managing work teams or departments.
  • Ability to develop and deliver sales presentations.
  • Ability to create, compose and edit written materials.
  • Willingness to take initiative and calculated risks.
  • Ability to analyze technical data.
  • Local travel to current and potential customers/clients as well as possible national travel to tradeshows.
  • Possession of a valid driver's license and an acceptable driving record that meets the minimum requirements of the company's insurance provider.
  • Current knowledge of product installation.
  • Ability and willingness to work a flexible schedule as required.
  • Proficient in computer spreadsheet programs, e-mail, Word programs and ability to learn the company computer program.
