Licensed Professional Counselor
Description


We are looking for a Licensed Professional Counselor who loves working with kids and adolescents to join our team! The Licensed Professional Counselor at Empower Behavioral Health (EBH) will play a critical role in growing our new Psychology and Diagnostic Department! We are looking for someone who is enthusiastic and ready to join a growing team! The duties for this role include conducting neurodevelopmental and mental health evaluations, as well as conducting therapy for patients.

Requirements


Duties/ Responsibilities:


  • Creating diagnostic testing batteries and conducting evaluations
  • Writing up diagnostic reports with a 14-business day turnaround 
  • Communicating evaluation results with patients and families 
  • Conducting therapy with patients using evidence-based practices
  • Professional communication with families, clinicians, and all other EBH staff 
  • Gathering necessary information from families to incorporate into diagnostic reports 
  • Demonstrating ethical, non-discriminatory, professional, and confidential work habits by protecting patient confidentiality and maintaining health records 
  • Attending mandatory staff meetings and trainings 
  • Ability to identify areas of improvement in psychological, diagnostic, and administrative processes and communicating this information to supervisor 
  • Maintaining high attention to detail when managing patient forms/paperwork and clinician paperwork 
  • Helping maintain positive relationships between families, referral sources, clinicians, and other EBH staff 
  • Working with clinicians to help refer families out to other providers as needed

Education and Experience:


Required


  • Masters-level degree in Psychology, Child Development, or another related field 
  • Knowledge of Neurodevelopmental Disabilities (e.g., Autism Spectrum Disorder, ADHD)
  • Experience conducting diagnostic evaluations
  • Experience conducting therapy using evidence-based practices (e.g., CBT, ACT, TF-CBT) 
  • Knowledge of HIPAA and patient confidentiality 
  • Strong report-writing skills
  • Can work independently, as well as part of a team 
  • Intermediate to advanced knowledge of Microsoft products (Word, Excel, etc.) 
  • Experience with Electronic Health Records (EHRs) 
  • Ability to multi-task and prioritize 

Preferred


  • Knowledge of mental health disorders (e.g., personality disorders, trauma-related disorders)
  • Bilingual (Spanish/English) 
  • Experience working with children, adolescents, and/or adults
  • Experience making CPS reports
