THE OPPORTUNITY: The Sales Analyst will analyze category, brand, and retailer performance to inform and support sales team in driving growth. They will pull data and provide action oriented insights, track scorecard metrics, and perform analysis to help shape customer conversations and plans. They will need to be able to build complex excel tools to forecast and provide in depth promotional analysis (lift, ROI, action plan). The analyst will report to the Chief Sales Officer.


WHAT YOU WILL DO: 

• Pull data and perform analyses to support the sales and marketing team in growing the business at assigned customers as well as understand key drivers on a category, brand, and retailer level

• Own the customer scorecard creation and updates including volume, share, distribution, bump charts, weekly sales ranks, etc.

• Provide insight on areas of opportunity within team and cross-functional partners

• Improve forecasting through the development and maintenance of monthly customer forecast tool

• Utilize syndicated, panel, or customer data to analyze the business, understand business trends, and provide a point of view on solutions (majority is SPINS but also distributor reports)

• Track account-level performance with adjustment recommendations to hit targets

• Perform analyses to identify new distribution and incremental sales opportunities 

• Deliver in-store execution performance

• Occasionally support sales teams with administrative tasks (new item forms, trade plan submissions)

• Summarize sales reports and analyses for customer reports and presentations

• Gain a deep understanding of customer needs and priorities within covered categories 

• Look for opportunities to gain distribution on new products and improve product exposure 


QUALIFICATIONS: 

• Bachelors Degree required

• 3-5 years’ experience in the CPG industry

• High proficiency in Excel and Microsoft office packages

• Demonstrated ability to turn analysis into insights and action

• Superior written and verbal communication skills 

• Excellent attention to detail

• Experience using syndicated data platforms (ideally SPINS)
