Customer Service

· Greet customers in a friendly manner

· Treat customers fairly, consistently, and with respect

· Respond quickly and courteously to all requests and complaints from customers and work to ensure that all customers feel satisfied after any interactions

· Become familiar with co-op policies and products in order to answer customer questions; refer unresolved questions to the appropriate staff member

· Instruct prospective new members in the procedure for joining the co-op.

· Help customers with groceries, as needed.

· Check in cooperators beginning work shifts.

· Prepare work in anticipation of cooperators’ arrival for a work shift.

· Set up, assist and supervise cooperators.

Product Responsibility

· Responsible for cutting produce for packaged grab and go

· Responsible for maintaining produce displays

· Follow store guidelines for designs, signage, and displays.

· Maintain signage and ensure legibility and accuracy

· May assist in inventory of certain produce items.

Closing and Cleaning

· Maintain a clean sales area and back-stock areas. 

· Follow department closure procedures. 

Other Duties

· Advise the manager on duty of product, equipment, and customer problems

· Observe all Weavers Way policies and procedures

· Attend departmental and all-staff meetings as scheduled

· Assist with inventories as needed

· Answer phones, as available

· Perform other duties as assigned by a manager or supervisor

· Ability to communicate with coworkers and customers 

· Ability to supervise co-operators

· Ability to courteously and efficiently serve customers 

· Ability to multi-task, set priorities and remain calm under stress

· Ability to work independently and exercise independent judgment when necessary

· Knowledge of produce, produce vendors and farmers, and issues relevant to the WW produce philosophy

· Able to lift 50 pounds

· Knowledge of Weavers Way staff and membership policies

· Be or become upon hiring a member in good standing of Weavers Way Co-op

Salary Description
14.50 per hour
