Description

We seek a Senior DevOps Engineer to envision and build an enterprise-class cloud platform designed to enable innovation, security and scale.


The successful Senior DevOps Engineer  will work collaboratively within the software development team to build our CI/CD Pipeline, develop a framework to automate our cloud development and eliminate vulnerabilities and deploy cyber security measures. 


What will you do?


Core Responsibilities and Key Performance Objectives

  • Lead the team in building and maintaining a state of the art development pipeline that is central to our ability to deliver high quality, secure, highly available applications at scale
  • Design, scope, maintain and implement various IT projects and processes such as: patching and vulnerability management, logging and alerting, performance monitoring and change management processes
  • Mentor and coach other engineers to level up their skills
  • Serve as a point of contact for DevSecOps questions and issues to others across the organization


  • Within Three Months:
    • Learn how our products work and get familiar with transmission lines and Dynamic Line Ratings (DLR)
    • Understand our deployment process and recommend ways to improve it to support scalability of our processes
    • Identify areas for automation improvements
    • Focus on improving our CI/CD pipeline ensuring consistency across production and development stacks
    • Build close relationship with the software development group to understand the needs and overall direction of our organization
  • Within Six Months:
    • Lead the team in building and maintaining a state of the art development pipeline that is central to our ability to deliver high quality, secure, highly available applications at scale
    • Design, scope, maintain and implement various IT projects and processes such as: patching and vulnerability management, logging and alerting, performance monitoring and change management processes
    • Mentor and coach other engineers to level up their skills
    • Identify and deploy cybersecurity measures by continuously performing vulnerability assessment and risk management
  • Within a Year and Beyond:
    • Assume a leadership role to support LineVision’s development infrastructure
    • Develop a long term plan for creating and maintaining new processes to improve and minimize wastage 
    • Work closely with software development to build a cohesive long term strategy that meets our scaling needs

What do you need to succeed in this role?

  • Bachelor’s or master’s degree in Computer Science or a related field or equivalent experience
  • 4-6 years experience in a technical leadership role
  • Demonstrated expertise with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure), networking technologies and access management.
  • Familiarity with the agile process and desire to participate as part of an agile team
  • Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively across functional areas in support of a positive work environment
  • Desire to make a tangible difference for the future of the electric grid
