Senior Accountant

Function & Responsibility


This is a hands-on position in most aspects   of accounting for the company with responsibilities to include reconciliations,   general ledger maintenance and generating financial reports for senior   management. The position will also be responsible for maintaining procedures   and processes to aid in achieving company financial targets and goals.


Primary Responsibilities:

  •  Own the monthly close and all forecasting efforts for each functional area. Month End Journal entry preparation and processing, flux analysis, financial trending and budget vs. actual analysis.
  • Responsible for annual budget forecast.
  • Compiles and analyzes financial information to prepare and consolidate financial statements
  • Responsible for payroll (not timecards), must understand and have processed payroll/reconciled Vacation accrual, 401k, etc.
  • Responsible for payroll review and payroll entries from Paylocity.
  • Responsible for expense reimbursements thru Concur.
  • Responsible for maintaining the general ledger including cash reconciliation, balance sheet reconciliations, monthly recurring journal entries, booking equipment leases and loans.
  • Maintain Fixed Assets.
  • Responsible   for booking accruals and prepaids.
  • Responsible for sales and use tax filings for multiple states.
  • Ensures all financial reporting deadlines are met.
  • Monitor and reconcile daily cash movements and resolve discrepancies internally with the team or        externally with the custodians.
  • Build/maintain 13 week Cashflow forecast for management
  • Continuous management and support of budget and forecast activities.
  • Responsible for preparation of schedules for annual financial audit as well as bank/tax audits
  • Responsible for Cash management/forecast and property tax reporting. 
  • Improve financial status by analyzing results, identifying trends and recommending corrective actions to management.
  • Identify, develop and maintain models that help with profitability and process improvements.
  • Support the development of quarterly board meeting preparations and other external reporting.
  • Research and apply new analytical tools to improve visibility of company performance.
  • Calculates and maintains monthly commissions for outside sales reps.
  • Prepare variance commentary when needed to inform outcomes and assumptions.
  • Mentor AP/AR staff
  • Performs other duties as assigned by both the Controller and CFO.
  • Backup for other Accounting staff as needed

  • Intermediate to advanced level in Excel
  • Ability to meet deadlines and work well under pressure
  • Ability to cross train with other accounting staff
