Current venues/produced events include The Andrew J Brady Music Center, The ICON Festival Stage at Smale Park, Riverbend Music Center, PNC Pavilion, Stuart & Mimi Rose Music Center At The Heights, The Taft Theatre, The Ballroom at The Taft, The Longworth Anderson Series at Memorial Hall and Cincy Cinco. 


MEMI is currently seeking a Production Manager to join its growing team. The Production Manager is responsible for all production elements related to touring and special events happening at MEMI venues and at contracted venues/event sites. They will be responsible for all advancing of event details and coordinating with production, venue and other team members to ensure the safe, efficient and smooth operation of all production elements for the events. The Production Manager will ensure that the event adheres to all established budgets and be responsible for monitoring, tracking and reporting all event related expenses. They will ensure that all needs of the event, artist and venue are met within the limitations of budgets and other guidelines.


A qualified candidate will also have Promoter Representative experience and be able to fully settle a show.


Duties and Responsibilities: 

  • Complete the advance planning and prepare estimated costs of all production/technical elements of incoming events (performance and special events) as assigned per the deal terms and contract
  • Help to manage stage, sound, lighting, and other crews, union and non-union
  • In conjunction with the other members of the company and touring management, determine crew calls and assignments based on production and facility requirements.
  • Coordinate basic crew and extra stagehand staff work assignments and scheduling
  • Responsible for effectively and efficiently solving production issues that may arise at any point in the event timeline
  • Establish, develop, and maintain positive relationships with artists, venue and touring crew/staff, artist management, senior union management to help ensure effective communication and successful and efficient execution of each show or event
  • Advance technical and hospitality details for shows/events according to contracts and riders while maintaining show budget
  • Prepare and submit in a timely manner and as required all event production wraps, invoices and event production financial settlements including labor and equipment 
  • Review, approve and submit stagehand and other staff time sheets for all events assigned
  • Enforce all safety standards, policies and procedures and preventive maintenance programs
  • Enforce facility policies and procedures and make recommendations as necessary
  • Coordinate front of house needs as they relate to assigned productions with house management staff
  • Participate in ongoing internal systems and management of production equipment, including stage equipment, inventory, etc.
  • Coordinate with Production Dept. staff, exclusive vendors and off-site vendors for equipment rental orders (e.g. audio-video, lighting, special effects equipment and or backline equipment) and submit associated invoices
  • Ability to act as promoter rep including preparing full and accurate artist/venue settlement and provide all appropriate backup and other documents
  • Coordinate operational feedback with Talent Buyer
  • Research special projects as assigned
  • Maintain department manuals and training materials for all production positions
  • Ensure all procedures are cost effective
  • Maintain regular communications with other staff and management
  • Oversee maintenance of audio, lighting, backline, video systems advising on repairs when needed
  • Responsible for safe and consistent operation of all equipment
  • Maintain a detailed and thorough filing system of all “past show” files on the shared drive
  • Maintain accurate vendor records, following purchasing policies and procedures
  • Other duties as assigned
Requirements
  • 3 – 5 years of related work experience in the concert/event/venue management
  • Solid working knowledge of production/operation aspects of concert and event production
  • Ability to effectively and efficiently solve logistical and technical problems 
  • Experience to creating and maintaining department and show/event budgets
  • Works well under pressure and in a fast-paced, ever-changing environment
  • Experience understanding and interpreting artist/event contracts and developing accurate budgets
  • Must be extremely flexible with hours and schedule as nights, weekends and holidays are often required
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite 
  • Experience in the music/event industry is preferred
Salary Description
Starting at $65,000 - commensurate with experience
