Summary

The Vendor Relationship Manager is responsible for developing and maintaining successful relationships with Asurint’s vendor network, establishing and measuring required performance levels from vendor onboarding throughout the entire relationship, and assuming primary responsibility for maintaining open and effective lines of communication between both parties. This professional will manage the contracted KPIs and seek to decrease project costs and turnaround time by proactively seeking and implementing measures that optimize Asurint’s vendor network.


Responsibilities

  • Supports the Director and the Manager of Procurement and Vendor Management as they source vendors in accordance with business needs and company guidelines, create requests for proposal and negotiate contracts. Supports vendor selection and integration activities, including evaluation of required documentation, background checks, and onsite inspection. 
  • Follows the vendor selection process to ensure the highest quality onboarding of new vendors, making them aware of expectations and consequences, and facilitating shared understanding of requirements that are aligned with federal/state law and business unit objectives.
  • Understands the complete breadth of professional services and related risks provided by vendors for each product.
  • Negotiates pricing with new and existing vendors to ensure optimal cost, and recommends process, service, or technology improvements that will result in cost reduction, improved productivity, and/or service performance.
  • Maintains vendor accounts through Salesforce to document all vendor activity, quality scores, and trends.
  • Executes quality control measures and analyzes the results. 
  • Creates and maintains a rigorous schedule for analysis of all vendor performance statistics; conducts quarterly/annual business reviews; provides constructive feedback and recommends remediations for known performance concerns.
  • Resolves inquiries or issues relating to vendor management functions; serves as vendor escalation point for vendor issues and risks; brings all vendor issues to internal team meetings for discussion.
  • Recommends vendor changes based on past vendor performance and/or opportunities for improvement in cost, TAT, or quality.
  • Provides reporting on vendor management program activities and compliance.
  • Designs, develops, and delivers training to internal and external clients on vendor management and court research topics.

Requirements
  • Reporting and data analytical skills required.
  • Strong negotiation skills required.
  • Experience in project management, supply chain, or customer support is required.
  • Effective communication skills required.
  • Understanding of legal terminology preferred.
  • Experience with vendor management and interacting with outside service providers is required. 
  • Proficiency in MS Office [Outlook, Excel, Word] or similar software is required.
  • Education: Bachelor’s degree is required. 
  • Years of relevant experience: 5 to 7 years is preferred.
  • Years of experience managing vendor relationships: 1 year is required.

Working Conditions

  • The work environment involves everyday risks or discomforts that require normal safety precautions typical of offices, which includes the need for general safe workplace practices with office equipment and computers, avoidance of trips and falls, and observance of fire regulations.
  • The noise level in the work environment is usually quiet to moderate.
  • This position is performed in an office setting although off-site meetings in various settings occur.
  • The schedule is generally normal business hours although there is a requirement to perform work, attend meetings and events before or after normal workings hours, and occasionally on weekends and evenings.
  • Some travel by personal automobile and a valid driver’s license is required. Occasional overnight travel is required.
  • Lift light objects [less than 20 pounds] and carry them short distances [20 feet or less].
