Heritage Grand Bakery, a new bakery concept in the heart of midtown, Manhattan, is looking for a talented Retail Supervisor to join their opening team.

Summary

As a Retail Supervisor for Heritage Grand Bakery, you will be responsible for assisting the bakery manager running the day-to-day operations of the retail store. You will be expected to continually improve guest experiences while helping the bakery manager creating a healthy work environment.

Responsibilities 

  • Ensure an extensive knowledge of all menu items: breads, viennoiseries, pastries and Grab N’ Go.
  • Ensure an extensive knowledge of all coffee and tea products offering and recipes.
  • Maintain a gracious, pleasant, and friendly attitude, while promoting a teamwork-based work environment.
  • Ensure products are merchandised correctly, retail store is clean and aesthetically pleasing.
  • Ensure planogram set up by Heritage Grand Bakery is always followed.
  • Manage and motivate the staff to increase sales, ensure efficiency and deliver exceptional customer service.
  • Ensure each retail staff is following the steps of service defined per the company service standards.
  • Oversee the store overall operations when the bakery manager is not present.
  • Communicate any operational issue to the bakery manager and GM immediately.
  • Assist the store manager with the training of the new hires.
  • Assist the store manager with the day-to-day scheduling and staff break times.
  • Assist the store manager with the cash process and drawer change prior and at the end of each shift.
  • Assist the store, manager with special order: ensure each special order has been made and is ready prior the opening of the shop.
  • Ensure payment has been processed for each special-order prior pick-up.
  • Assist store manager with the daily inventory and receiving process.
  • Assist store manager with packaging weekly inventory.
  • Answer the phone and assist with answering guests' questions and requests in a friendly, courteous manner.
  • Handle guests’ complaints and communicate feedbacks when appropriate.



Requirements

Qualifications

  • NYCDOH Food Handlers Licence
  • Prior supervisor or leadership experience required (2 years)
  • Excellent verbal communication skills
  • Problem solving and delegation skills
  • Sense of urgency and attention to details
  • Passion for teaching and learning 
  • Experience operating POS system basic and intermediate functions 
  • Ability to work flexible schedule
  • Ability to lift and carry items weighting up to 25 pounds 
  • Ability to stand for long periods of time
  • Ability to perform the essential job functions consistent safely and successfully within the ADA, FMLA and other federal, state, and local standards.
